Building an early 396. Need an early timing cover no dowel holes with tab for an eight inch balancer- Any of you guys got one laying around?

There is one on EBay. It doesn't state the size of the balancer. It is minus the dowel holes. There is over a day left on the auction.

Check out add#2160395 on rj. He has covers and some 8" balancers hope this helps.

Dont forget to take the camshaft to a machine shop or someone with a lathe and have the rear journal grooved or you will not get any oil to the top of the motor.

If you matchup the cam with the cam bearings, you will be OK. The stock design cam had a groove in it. Stroked470 is correct - one of the two must have an oil passage.

Thanks- I had the machine shop take care of that, when they did the block and rods.
