Hey Zip, I AM old enough and remember those days but I always had a inline Chevy when a lot of my Idols had Flatheads but I had one flathead, Later J.Smith 4621 racing :D

First car back in '66
 
'52 Plymouth Cranbrook 4dr, flathead 6, 3spd with a home made shifter. If you've ever seen an early 50's Mopar 3spd, they have one shift shaft coming out verticle and the other horizontal. I fabbed a floor shifter for that, that I could actually speed shift . I was still in high school. Fabbed up a set of deep rear rims using Olds rims and Chrysler centers, and mounted the fattest used tires I could dig up.
After I got out of the Army in '71 I bought a 4 dr Belvedere and stuffed in a 440 Mag/727. With the stock 2:23 screw it'd do 140(buried the clock anyway and it sure sounds good !) Probably 130 in all reality :roll: And all on bias ply tires !! It's a wonder I'm still alive some of the stuuuupid things we did........ :shock: :shock:
