gm 8.5 posi make clunking tapping chattering noise when turning?
what could it be?????
it a stock posi carrier 4.88 gears

It might just be the clutches chattering and a little friction modifier should fix that. It's possible there is damage to the spiders so it wouldn't be a bad idea to pull the cover and have a look. If you don't find anything broken then some fresh synthetic lube and a bottle of additive should make a difference.
