73 duster 460 big block project
 
i want to get about 800hp out of my 460 but i dont know these engines very well it came out of a 73 thunderbird (ironic same year as my duster) any tips on how to get about 800hp out of it

What kind of heads do you have. For 800hp you will probably need at least an "A" head or as Todd suggested a 600hp nos kit! just kidding.
I've got several friends :oops: :oops: that are die hard ford guys.

I give up.... put the damn BBF460 in the Mopar. I want to hear what Mark says about it anyways. LOL!

That was my first motor in the late 80's!. It was a 460 with DOVE heads. I was gonna get a set of Cobra Jet heads, but I qiut racing and sold everything (actually gave the motor to a friend and will still run). When I started back I ran Chevy big block instead.

More specs on this buildup would help determine hp.

I have seen a 440 mopar in a Camaro, and a 565bbc in a Duster. Never a ford in one. I saw the Duster last summer, and it was fast. Riding thru the pits, came across it. Looked in the engine compartment, and saw the BBC. The owner was real close, with a slie grin on his face, I said, "AHHHH, no wonder its fast". He winked, and I rode on
