IT HELPS TO CHECK FOR TWISTING OF THE SIDEWALLS AT LAUNCH AND WHILE GOING DOWN TRACK --I WAS TAUGHT
you can use a camaro to see the movement in slowmochine . WE ALSO PAINTED A MARK ON THE RIM WHERE IT TOUCHED THE TIRE TO CHECK FOR SLICK MOVEMENT AROUND THE RIMS DURING LAUNCH |

Its cool to watch the launch on Fuel cars when they play it back in hi-def slow motion, the abuse those tires take is incredible!

Almost a must, for making chassis adjustments. good one with the camaro thing lively, i will use that one on my ford pals.

You don't need the stripe on a Ford. If you can't read the letters on the sidewall it means he's in the burnout or driving through his own oil.
