what are the best metering blocks for a 1200 dominator?

I have a Pro Systems 1200, the motor is a BBC 565", 14 to 1, Patriot 360 heads that HRD did the chambers, the pro systems carb was really lean so I kept going up on the jets and the hi speed air bleeds went down to .026 smallest ones we had, still could not get the EGT below high 1300, then I had a friend took stock holley metering blocks and he drills the passage out they work but same problem, now I can't find the metering blocks that came with this carb SO i'am hoping you guys will be able to recommend what metering blocks to buy? Thanks Doug

Hey Doug,

What did you end up doing on this?

Curtis I just ordered the wide body metering blocks from BLP, I have been fighting the high EGT's with the Pro Systems carb, I have 2 races in Sept. hope to get the car on a dyno before Sept. 17, will let you know the results. Doug

Blp

Curtis I did order the BLP wide body's, went to put them on and surprise the bolts are not long enough I called them and asked why they didn't come with the blocks and they have them made so they are the supplier! now I'am having them 3 day shipped will be here tomorrow, I have a 2 day race this weekend so I will see how they work? I'am going to try smaller jets (.112) and go up from there. Doug

With the wide body blocks you also have to bend the accelerator pump arms.

Yep Mark they did tell me about that, any luck selling your 58 chevy? looks like a nice car
Curtis went to Madras this weekend and I left the .112 jets in it that came with the wide bodies and the EGTs were high 1300 to low 1500 degrees BLP said .112 to .114 so I will try the .114 jets only problem it was my last race of the year!!, Doug

At least with these blocks you can jet up and the jet will be the restriction, not the emulsion tube and main well. You will get there with them.

Curtis

Bowler, have some people interested in the 58 Delray. One couple drove here from about 100 miles away and we had a good time driving it around town. They seem pretty serious. I have the BLP wide body blocks on a 1250 for my new 582. Going to dyno soon. Had it running on my test stand. So far so good
