throttle stops

need some advise
have a sbc with a dominator 1050 -currently using a linkage style
carb does not seem to like it-----should we be using a plate style --if so what kind
stopping from 9 sec to 11.10
thanks

Why would you use the stop from 9sec to 11.10sec ?

we would like to run super rod #'s but we only have a hotrod class from there we have a class from 8.90 and quicker
we could run just a box class that pays about $300 to win
the rod class and 8.90 class pays $1000 to win
we are not quite fast enough for 8.90

So you are tying to run 11.90. Most everyone i know runs the stop at the beginning of the track. At the other end it seems to upset the car to much.

our index is 11:10 and we are running our stop right after launch car runs 9:00 without stop

Sorry, I misread your post. I think if you look at super comp at least 95% of the racers use a under carb plate style throttle stop. I had a linkage dual cylinder stop for my injection system, i used it mostly for the autostop feature. I tried the throttle stop a few times when on a bad track and it was not very consistant.
