Sam I have hit him up with email, voicemail and PM's with no reply. Kinda starting to worry me a bit now.

TheYellaBrick 11-08-2012 05:35 AM

If needed, contacting the local cops will send them for a welfare check, and not the kind you cash.

482 11-08-2012 12:15 PM

He is a EMT right?
Maybe he is in Jersey or NY helping out a few days!

Scorpion1110 11-08-2012 01:46 PM

Mark posted on his page on 11/05, comments area.

Hes likely pretty busy, perhaps as 482 said.

mopar1968 11-15-2012 08:36 AM

Thank's guy's for checking up on me, I have some health issues that came up real quick on me and i was flown to Pittsburgh,Pa kinda fast, Then i got to go to California for a week, Got diesel fuel in my blood stream. At the time i didn't think it was a big deal well i am here to tell you it is a big deal. Start's to shut down certian thing's. So be careful when working on diesel engines :!: Only 4 place's in the United States that can handle issues like this. I am doing good now try to go back to work next week. Thank's again guy's for the concern, We are truly a family here.

TheRabbit 11-15-2012 08:48 AM

Glad you're ok. Sounds like it could have been really bad.

Harbone 11-15-2012 08:59 AM

Glad to hear you are OK brother, kinda had us all spooked there for a bit! I had one of my techs do the same thing about 3 years back, spent 6 weeks in the hospital, not a good deal.
Now that you are better, time to get you this bumper sticker...

I have a close personal friend that is disabled now from having Diesel fuel absorbed thru his system..shut down major organs with permanent damage..One thing to keep in mind its more then Just Diesel fuel...Its menthanol and other chemicals in the fuel that adds to the damage. glad your Ok Mark

Scooterz 11-15-2012 02:15 PM

Amen. Is it just what has soaked into the hands that can cause such problems?? That is scarey. I am glad you are good my friend.

Hands, splashes on the arms, fumes in-haled...not saying the 1st time you spill some on you at the gas station your Hit but for Diesel mechanics that work with this stuff each day its serious business...Most Diesel Mechanics I know use a certain type glove and long sleeves etc...

also when I owned the VP fuel dealership I sold Drums of M-1 methanol to the local university that was making Bio-Diesel..

Mark

Glad to hear your alright...did you inject yourself somehow?

TheYellaBrick 11-15-2012 05:11 PM

WHOA ! Now THAT is scary, Mark !
Makes a guy review all his shop habits, huh folks. They make Nitril gloves for a reason. Let's all make sure we use 'em.

REAL glad you're still with us, Mark. Praying there aren't any long term side effects to ya, Brother.

mopar1968 11-15-2012 05:25 PM

I had cut the top of my hand while working on a common rail cummins, As you all know common rail Diesels are very high pressure, Up to 32,000 psi. Another tech fired the engine and one of the high pressure lines was loose, It hit my hand just by luck right on the cut raised the skin. I went and washed my hands not knowing it had sprayed up the cut and under my skin getting in my blood stream, I started to get sicker and sicker untill i went to the emergency room, When they took blood from me checking for the flu my T-cell's count was out the roof, then they looked at my hand and 2 hours later i was in flight. So please be careful with this stuff i have worked in it for 32 years now and this is the first for me. Again thanks to all of you.

Mark

MEMRACING62 11-15-2012 06:49 PM

Wow...what a freak accident , kinda figured it was injected..one tool people have to be real carefull with is airless paint sprayers, Ive heard of guys injecting themselves accidently and almost dieing from it...glad to hear your ok.

TheRabbit 11-16-2012 08:15 AM

A guy I use to work with injected grease in his hand from a grease gun pretty similar to this. He lost a part of his hand and was sick for a while. Almost died from it.

Scooterz 11-16-2012 09:58 AM

Oh man... that is freaky. How many times have I had chemicals on my bare hands, grease, gas, etc... even with a few cuts...??? I can't count them all. Now days i am more careful... but not enough. Those gloves that DD mentioned... I better get some. Glad everything is okay Mark!!!

wazup 11-18-2012 04:37 PM

Glad your ok.

mopar1968 11-18-2012 05:25 PM

Thank's guy's, Scooterz i have worked in it for 34 year's now and never have given it a thought. But my friend it will do damage to your body if you get it in your blood. So please everyone be careful we really don't know what is in fuel these day's :!: :!:

TheYellaBrick 11-18-2012 05:41 PM
