I'M HEATING UP
 
hey guys I have a 406 in my 96 sonoma in traffic I heat up close to 200 I changed to a summit ele water pump I have 2 X12 in ele pusher fans and a huge fluidyne rad 20x25x5 and running a 180 thrmo

406 11.5:1 cast Iron Motown heads

what the heck sould I do?

what temp do you guys run on the street?????

OH YA one more thing I live in Florida (it's hot here all year long)

That about normal for in " in traffic" driving with a Hot motor.
It does cool down when running on the open road correct? Do you have a shroud for the fans? Tell us more, Charles

OH YA one more thing I live in Florida (it's hot here all year long)

Did you drill the steam holes in the heads and use 400 gaskets before installing them on the 400 block, that and then 4.155 bore make the cylinder walls thin, i'm also guessing that you're running an octane booster because 11.5 with a steel head is a little high for pump gas. So i'm guessing you'll not get it to run much cooler than 200 degrees in traffic.

Ditto on the steam holes. not really required for race only but street driving is a must.
