TAKING BETS !! WHATS IT GONNA RUN ????????
 
01 235'' MULLINS HARD TAIL, 462 BBC AT 13.5 TO 1 WITH REC PORT HEADS, BIG ROLLER CAM YADA YADA YADA,,ITS GOT 4.57 REAR END GEARS, WITH 33X17X16 BRAND NEWWWW HOOSIER'S, LEAVING AT 4200 AND SHIFTING AT 6800 TOTAL WEIGHT ON DRAGSTER AND DRIVER IS 1850 I SCALED IT MY SELF, JUST LOOKING TO SEE WHAT EVERYBODY THINKS IT WILL RUN, AND I WILL POST THE RESULTS FRIDAY NIGHT WHEN WE GET HOME !!

Well Bigray... I am lost on Dragsters but I bet it will haul a$$. Let us know the #'s when you take a stab at it.

Hard to say without air conditions. But I will guess 8.38 @153.50. 1/8 mile should be better than 1/4mile because of the 4.56 gear. I say 5.22 @126.00 in the 1/8. 1.18 60'

lot of things not known to even guess for me but have fun :)

i assume gm heads ? how big of roller cam ? What is the converter 8" ? and what stall ?
You plan to run 1/8th I assume with the 4.56 ?

Well didn't do so good, the Dominator carb had some probs, it took 2 pumps to start everytime, and then no matter what it just wouldn't idle right, we checked float level, fuel press, and when u dropped it in gear, it really fell off and u had to keep foot braking it to keep it running. may just put the Pro form 930 back on it,, it was running 8.80s in the altered, same motor. with that carb, thats all we did, pull it out of the roadster and put it in the dragster and change the carb.

Almost sounds like a vac leak or air/fuel adjs. not right.

Humm..i checked for air leaks,, and went ahead and put new gaskets on.i took the air fuel screws to 2.5 out, heck it acted worse, could it be that its pulling fuel past the power valve ?? i even backed the idel screws off, and tryed to just foot feed it right a 1000 to 1250 and it still didnt like it, <<

we just put my buddies 1050 dom on it, and it idles fine, and start's fine, my Dom is brand new out of the box,, WTF anybody have any ideas ??

I have heard of Carbs coming brand new with metal shavings in them...I'd take it apart and clean and check everything.

NEW UP DATE..on the carb you could not see the idle air slots from the bottom,when u turned it upside down, SOO we crank the idle screws up till we could, then adjusted the Acc pumps, had to bend them just a little, but it fired right up and idled,,but still gonna send it off to get set up for our motor,,

it was looking good to me, going faster every time down the track.its gotta level out some'where, and its the first time its been on alky, and only his 5th full power pass. sooo it looked good to us, and the mph was all about the same,

Probly weather, it was kinda warm today, then it was getting cooler all evening, and the motor only has about 7 pass's on it,

How are the rpms with those low gears? I think those 1/8 times are slow for your set up. What heads are on this bbc?

You might be on the fat side if it picks up in cooler weather, I run mine as lean as I can.

the most the recall shows is 7150 but he does go a little past the 1\8th. the heads are no port work done rec ports. with 2.25 and 1.88. he only leaves at 4200 and shifts at 6700

Running alcohol it will pick up as you build heat in the motor if you are not keeping it consistent, or slicks could be coming in. How quick were you lapping the car? Also where were you running it? Mo-Kan or Tulsa? If it was Tulsa I wish I would have been out there to see it run. They're having a two day race next weekend. I'm going to run Saturday. I was close on the MPH, keep making laps you're about to get it down to my prediction LOL. Hove fun with it. I think you will find the sweet spot.

ooh i hear ya,, yep we were at tulsa. not really hot lapping it, just playing, may put a lean out valve under the carb to get the heat up to the same every time, but next saturday we are gonna run in the Show at Tulsa..SEE ya there, you know what our dragster looks like,, come on by and say.
