cometic head gaskets have you tried them.........
I pulled my heads and only have .005 clearance valve to piston. I'm thinking about going from a .039 head gasket to a .080 Cometic. I like everything I've heard so far just making sure none of you have any horror stories with these gaskets.......

I've been using them for about 5 years on Harley engines and they work great. Haven't had a problem yet. I would recommend them.

I use them, they have been reused 3 times now also :D

Interesting... i have a motor that needs more clearance also.... but are you sure there is a .080" head gasket? I looked on there web page and did not see anything offered but .040.
Thanks, keith |
I called today they can make up to .140 thick, custom.
|
Excellent gaskets. The reason you can get so many thicknesses, is that they keep stacking layers until it arrives at the thickness you want.
Not for use with O ringed block. Dave |
How much are the .080 going to cost?

Gaskets
I tried cometics after having problems with gaskets leaking. Never had a problem with a head gasket after that. They are expensive, but well worth the money in my opinion. Still have the copper gaskets hanging in the garage.
