Did anybody do any good at the track???

I went three rounds before turning on the red bulb. The "BEAST" ran pretty good: 5.96, 5.94, 5.94. We ran 1/8 mile yesterday due to high winds. That was different, never ran the 1/8 before.

It's like almost getting some........, 1/8th mile racing

We ran last weekend in the big headwind of 35MPH and were forced to race to the 1/8th like you guys. For the record I have always said that an 1/8 mile race at a 1/4 mile track is for 1/2 trackers whom can't handle there rides. Our super pro program runs 1/8th and the pro runs the whole way down, so that is my class.
I ran 4.911 at 145.04, I had to abort the second time run due to a hard move to the left. Third time run was 4.907 at 145.3 MPH. First round a crappy .052 reaction and a 4.903 at 145.27 MPH on a 4.89 hard dial. I deserved to loose that round with that light. These were the first passes this season. I just made new stronger wheelie bars this morning. I bent the last set on the time run I aborted, which may have been the cause that pushed me left in hind site, 1.125" .058 was not enough at 70" long, now we have 1.25" .058 wall, 70" long and with a double k member now. Took 3.5 hours to build.
PS: Good job Mike

Must be nobody did anything they want to brag about.

I was having issues, I ran about 4 tenths slower than last time out. I see you ran some high 5's, good job.

Thanks Mike......... I was trying to hide that in the ET info and not dwell on the first round loss I had. However, I'll bet you are correct. Our track had a street tire shoot out this weekend, No points events to race.

I got mine running today(I backed off valves last fall) I haven't had much interest in it so far this year but man...once you fire em up the first time after they been sitting all winter it sorta changes things....Now I'm itching to take it to the track...maybe next weekend. :)

Our race season started first week of March. The 1st race I blew the rear ring gear and transfer case into 1,000 pieces.
However, my truck makeover is finally kicking some butz and after 2 races I'm leading the points at my local track. :D I doubt many watched it, but I was on dish TV channel 230 last night @ 6:30. It was filmed from our first National Points race in April played on TV last night. I'll be going to La Porte Indiana for a race on the last weekend of May. Never been there so I'm looking forward to it. Check it out. It's gonna be a lot of fun.

I would like to get my ass in gear and finish my gasser. All I got left is put in the mag and set the timing< but the beer and the hammack keeps calling my name. After a 2 weeks of straghtening out a bent up roundy round car, I need to visit the local 1/4 mile for some rehab to get the adrenaline flowin! Maybe thats all I need. :?

Bruce,
Why bad mouth 1/8 mile racing??
just because YOU run a 1/4 program doesn't mean a 1/8 tracks are easy or that we can't handle our rides - it just so happens that like in alot of this country all of the local tracks around here ( including Memphis Motorsports Park) all run a 1/8 program on the weekends, now I suppose if I had money to burn to run in some circuit or in a sanctioned heads up program galavanting all over the country with my $100,000 chassis car in tow then that would give me the right to bad mouth them poor ole none driving 1/8 racers too.
