Too much stall?

I have a BTE convertor sitting on my shelf doing nothing. I know I will not use it for quite some time if I don't put it in my '68 Nova.
My question is:
Do you think the stall is too much for the street. The convertor flashed around 3700 rpms, it is a BTE 300-802 Street/Strip.

Motor is bbc with KB .030 flat tops, stock rods, stock crank, Big Mother Thumper cam, MSD 6ALN. All new, never fired.

Tranny is th400.

Vintage Air.

Rear end is a dog right now, 10 bolt pegleg with around .373.
I intend on changing it to either 12 bolt or 9" with around the same gears, limited slip.

Any thoughts and opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Hey Rudy,

Mine is 3500 & I drive it on the street sometimes. I have 488's & I just keep it off the freeways. I suspect it might get hot sometimes, but it works fine.

I too don't think so Rudy, we have the same motor, same trans, same gear same converter BTE 3,000 stall, but with 18" tires in this truck actually the same cam also, but hydraulic roller and it works fine on the street, maybe a little more gear with 18" wheels. I just had it on EBAY, at $15,500.00 and a guy maybe comming too get it, frame off resto.

Thanks guys for the input. It shall go in......................with a quality oil cooler in place. I have a new one, not sure if it is adequate though. It is a Tru-Cool LL7B.
Hopefully we will have it wrapped up in a few days, it has been out of commission for a couple years now.

That is a damn nice truck zip!

Thanks guys, i had the truck listed on ebay, but it had issues with smoking when first fired up. It turns out that the shop that put the heads together didn't check and they installed inter springs when it wasn't necessary and it cut all the valve seal bonnets, causing it too suck oil on fire up. It's now being fixed and will probably go back on ebay starting bid at $15,500.00 no reserve. This truck is detailed from bumper to bumper and most every part on it is new, it only has 425 miles on it since built. It's not mine it's my friends but i watched it being built and it took a solid year to build.

Here's another one I have listed on ebay, for my friend that owns the badass 66 Biscyne. The car is also a ground up resto, nothhing missed, show quality thru out and brand new bumper too bumper. Reserve set at $18,000.00.
