Phoenix slicks- What do you think?
Bought a set of Phoenix slicks for our A/Stocker and the circumferance measurement was over 1 1/2 inches diferent from one tire to the other. We called them and they said that was normal. Not for me it isn't normal. I know we don't go that fast but I remember when I had my chassis car that ran 9.00's it would pull hard to the right on the launch and it was because the tires were off under and inch in circumferance. I ran Hoosier tires then and they gave me a new set no charge. Phoenix said, send them back and I have to pay shipping back to them. I think that's BS.
What do you guys think? |
Sounds like poor customer service to me. I would let them know how I feel and that I will never buy another set. Oh and let them know bad news travels fast.

Tell them you're not racing a WoO Sprint Car.

Jimmy Smith had the same problem with a set of 13X31's. Big difference in the roll out, he tried everthing to get the size equal, blowing them up to 30lbs., etc. He had put soap in them to seal them. He purchased them from Bill Taylor (BTE), Bill stood behind them even with the soap in them and gave him a new set. He's very happy with the way they work, but i'm sure he would not be happy if he had your story of the cost in shipping them. I think BTE even brought a set to the track for him.
