1.428 60' time with 9.65 et is my 60' time slow?

i ran my new car at woodburn 9-8-09 it ran 1.428 60' 3.993 @ 330 6.171 @ 1/8 at 112.95 mph, 8.056 @ 1000' 9.652 @ 1/4 mile with a speed of 139.42 and i lifted about 100' early my question is my 60' slow, my car is 2400# 109" w/b, strange struts (single adj.), rear susp. is 4 link with double adj. strange coilovers, 4 link intersect is about 50" out and 2" above ground, i have struts adjusted in the middle and the rear shocks are set in the middle on both compression & rebound. also the weight is close to 50-50 and my rear tires are hoosier 32.5x16.5x15 (co7) thanks for your help Bowler

Maybe a little cause that's a light car but It is pretty close for your 1/8 mile time I think....Mine has only been on the track once with this combo but it 60' 1.31 and went a 6.1 in the eighth at 110 but I had shifter issues and got out of it a bit early by mistake( first mph cone) weighs 3200lbs

Did it hook?

How tight is the converter?

The problem could be that you traveled forward in time to make this pass.  My car 60s in the mid 1.30s running similar 1/8 mile times and speeds but my car doesn't run the back half like yours. My best 60 is 1.33 and best 1000' 8.18.

Man Curtis, I'm glad you straightened me out, I couldn't figure out if he was a time traveler, or a clairvoyant.

What gears do you have in the rear-end?

I think the 1.30s are there to be had with possibly some suspension tuning, I'm not a great chassis guy but some on here are. You might give up all you can think of on your setup, motor and chassis, shock settings also. Does you car carry the front tires, leave straight out? Sometimes it is the small things that will help someone give you something to go with.

We have a 66 nova that runs comparable times at 2700lbs. It runs 1.29-1.33 depending on the track and weather.

I'd think mid 1.30's are doable. I'm not a chassis guy either, but I've learned a lot with my own car. IMO, your intersect is way too low and a litttle long for a small block's torque. I'd move it up several inches and back a couple if you can. My vette with a 406, would 60 pretty slow with a long and low ic......once I got it right, it ran low 1.30's and mid nines in the 1/4 @ 140ish.

i have 4:56 gears, leaves straight, and i got pictures and it does not look like it pulled the wheels (very good track) at woodburn they have a class called roadsters & dragsters no electronics & pro tree (4 tenths) it was hard to get a good reaction time they did say i could deep stage, i will change the instant center, the rear coilovers are strange double adjustable both settings are in the middle next time i will also try tuning with shocks. thanks again Bowler
