VALVE ADJUSTMENT 4/7 SWAP CAM

Wats the easiest meathod to adjust my valves on a BBC with a 4/7 swap cam?

Tod74 05-12-2009 01:04 AM

The exact same way you adjust them on any engine. the 4 7 swap has nothing to do with it...unless you use a method like "Bring number 1 to TDC then adjust intakes on these cylinders.... etc

Just adjust each valve when the lifter is on the base circle.

When the ex starts to open, adjust the intake. When the intake has opened completely and is on it's way closed, adjust the exhaust.

Do it the way Tod said to do it.

I adjust mine like Tod said only I adjust them in the firing order. I do the exhaust first, then the intakes. This way I'm only rotating the engine over a couple of times.

Just lash them the way you've always done it. WITH the new firing order, you'll be just fine. As long as the lifter is on the base circle, for the valve you are adjusting, everthing will be just fine.

when using EO IC method you must be quick... I recomend turning the idle speed down as low as possible. ...

ok thanks. all that info was no help at all. In the above 8 threads i did not get step by step method. I am new to this and this has wasted alot of my time. If ANY 1 out there has a STEP by STEP Method it would be greatly apreciated.
