Removing Coil over shocks-Dangerous??

There are no stupid questions, right?

I need to remove the coil over shocks in my car to drop suspension and remove my big MT tires on my Pro Street so I can check the brakes. I just want to make sure they aren't gonna fly out and rip out my teeth and left eyeball.

If these are a true coil over shock, jack up the car by the rear housing and support the car by the frame. When you let the jack down the rear end will drop taking the compression off of the springs. You will find a point where the bolts will just slide out.

Thanks guys, they are true coil overs. I just want to make sure. Car is already jacked up, just have to loosen the nuts and drop the rear down. My front teeth thank you.
