Horsepower
I have a couple of engines that I was hope someone could give me estimates on horsepower and torque numbers.
1) 350 block .060 over Dart Iron Eagle Heads - 2.02/1.60 64cc Comp Cam Magnum 292H 1.5 aluminum roller rockers Weiand Team G w/ 2 inch plenum Holley 750 double pumper 2) 454 block stock bottom end iron oval heads hyd. cam lift .320/.320 avertised duration 292 Weiand Stealth (modified to an air gap style) Holley 750 double pumper Both have headers and use a MSD distrubutor, blaster coil and 6AL. Thanks -aaron- |

Thanks -aaron- i think you will get 400 to 425 on the high end out of the small block..i get this from our 400 small block...same heads,same carb making 460 hp..proven on dyno. we have about 50ci more than you. on the big block i would day 450 to 480...with much more TQ than the small block...this is based on the hp and tq #'s i see in the mail order motors that are stock...you might touch the 500hp range but i doubt it.. hope this gives you an idea..i might not be dead on but you can bank on it being in the ball park.. Sir;
I aploogise for not answering or attempting to answer. Truth is I can't come close to guessing. There are so many things in initial design machine work, tolerances, and assembly techniques that differ between different builders that can influence or affect final outcome that I never will guess at what a car or engine can do unless it is my design and is my build. I will on occasion make a rough estimate if I throughly know the work of another builder. Sorry but I can't help. would like to but can't. Ed |
I agree with bj, you'll be in the 425 to 450 range on the sb, and a bit higher on the bb, I'm assuming your running flat tops, if compression is higher the numbers will be too. Charles

Well thanks guys for the guesses. I know that there is a lot of variables to count for, but this will give me a starting point.
