how much hp? and e t estimates

ok so im changin up my combo on the 383 for next season,
brodix track 1 heads with 221 cc intake runners 2.08 and 1.60 valves and 67 cc chambers
600 int and 600 exh comp hyd roller cam and victor junior intake with 800 cfm double pumper
this be in a 3000 lb trans am with a 4000 stall in a power glide, 4.56 with 12 inch slicks

Now your talkin'!! trucks are for haulin' stuff(not all of them don't bash me if you have a fast truck that hauls ass)

How much compression and what is the duration @ .050 of the cam? also lsa? I think the carb is a bit on the large side for a 383....if the cam is matched to the rest of it and it has decent compression I'd think you would be in the 14's for sure.

p.s How are you gonna get the trans am to 300olbs? It is a bunch heavier than that stock.

I was kidding with the 14's I think mid to high elevens should be fairly easy.

11.5-1 comp
the duration at 50 is 244

there is basically nothing left in it, the hood fenders and trunck lid are fiberglass, tubular a arms, and thts about it

i still aint sure about the 800 i didnt kno if it would be to big or not

It will work..if you think you might go bigger with the engine later you would have a bigger carb already.

I think the car will run in the high elevens with that set up...which would be around 7.60's or so in the 1/8. just my opinion/guess

"if " that motor makes 550 hp (it should) it should go 7.3 ish and 11.20 or so quarter mile.

Cant help with guesstamates, but heres some input, you need MORE GEAR!

In a fairly heavy car with not a whole lot of motor (no offense) you'll need all the help you can get to get that sled moving.

A 456 is a good 3 speed gear but not for a glide.

You be better suited with a 488 or a 513 IMO

well your right but 5.13`s with a 29 hi tire at 120 is 8000 rpm. guys are doin it with low budget 383`s but its in the gray zone.. couple seasons of running and you may very well need deep pockets. anyways, for 8th mile really even 5.38`s ,5500 stall and brake 6.90`s are in store... really we drift, he asked what the car would do with his planned set up.

but the idea of a glide and the stall are still just tht, im tryin to decide wat all to do drivetrain wise

If it is an 1/8 mile bracket car only go with a glide no if ands or buts. If it is a street strip car you will probably like a three speed better. jmo
