panhard bar
how short can this bar be? center sect. bracket mount to frame is about 20in. good or bad. drag car only.

Why do you want to use a panhard bar instead of a wish-bone or track locator? BTW what kind of rear suspension do you have?

panhard
Side travel, bracket car has split monos with cal-trac bars. Launches good but has side movement going dowu track. What was recommened and was given one for free. Just fabed the brackets.

If your rear suspension compresses 4 inches or more at launch, that length of panhard bar will move your chassis an inch or more. Wishbone type is way superior in keeping everything lined up. You may have other issues though instead.

panhard
compression is only about 2 and one half inches.
|
Can't you extended it past the center section to make pan bar longer? May have fab new bracket.

I passed right by the mention in the above post about it mounting on the ctr section. It needs to be as long as possible to be as effective as possible.
Also, what exactly do you mean the car has 'side movement' ? Is it blatantly visible that there is movement between the rear end and the body ? Or is the whole car pulling to one side ? If you can push the car side to side (when it's static) and there is obvious movement between the rear end and the body, then you have some issues to solve. Worn/lose spring end bushings, etc. But if there is NO movement, you have OTHER things to look at. |
panhard bars are ok for a street carand they do their job.but on a drag only car id rather go in a different way. and listen to DD.he knoweth of what he speaks.( boy that sounded kinda cool!) lol
