BURNOUT

When i am in the water box the car wont run straight. So we put a little preload on one side and nothing happen. But what i dont understand is that it will run straight down the track. We put a string on the suspension and every thing seems to be right. So what next?

one tire is probably bigger than the other. take a cloth tape measure and measure the circumference of the tire or what would be the roll out.... Some times you have to buy several tires to get the same height!

turn in to the burnout ,not like drifting.

get it up on the tires QUICK once out of the water and you will most likley eliminate this problem...most of the cars i see doing what your speaking of is not getting the tires good and wet and then getting them turning...

uneven tires get worse when the grow!!!!

My brother says that a car that goes sideways on the burnout doesn't have enough wheel speed.

You would have to be way off on tire size and suspenion to cause this. Your probably coming up on your rpm to slowly. Roll thru the water to the edge of the water box and strike your tires hard. They should almost jump up and start spinning, making sure your in high gear as quick as possible. Your car should track straight then.
One way to do a quick check on your preload is to jack the rear end up and check if the drivers side is coming up first. It should come up about 3/4 of an inch before the passenger side without you in it. Just a quick way to make sure your in the ballpark.
good luck

Mine used to do that...finally figured out I was not all the way out of the water. make sure you pull all the way up out of the water before you start your burnout and get it into high gear asap.

Here is a tach video of a pass I made a few weeks ago...
Notice how I hit the gas for the burnout.. I don't have these issues.
This is a 6.26 1/8th Pass...

SOMETIMES IF YOU HAVE A LIMITED SLIP REAR END ONE TIRE SPINS SLOWER THAN THE OTHER AND COULD CAUSE FISH TAILING,THAT IS WHAT I WAS TOLD.
