street outlaws show?

anybody watch the new show on discovery "street outlaws"? if ya did just wondering what ya thought about it :?

so far i kinda like it and think it will get even better.... not to sure about them boyz having the fastest street cars in the states though..... lol

Swiley383 06-11-2013 09:51 AM

I saw part of it. I think it will be a good show lots of big $$$$$ cars i did not see any sleepers the farm truck made too much noise to be a true sleeper. Most of those cars were 8 sec cars I would guess.

thats what i was thinking too... kinda hard to tell cause all the seem to do is spin the damn tires for 200 ft.... lol i think chuck done shit his pants when they rolled up with the fake cop car....lmao

fast75vega 06-11-2013 03:23 PM

"flip" died last week ... they said he committed suicide and rolled his car or some shit like that :(

bigray 06-12-2013 07:26 PM

it looked like they trailered to the street races, so are they just race cars that race on the street, or ?? cars that they trailer to a street race and just call them street cars, and fasted in the states, ?? hum I have seen some very fast street cars out east. that they truly do drive on the streets,

zipper06 06-13-2013 05:37 AM

I saw the whole show, but i wasn't too impressed, because of the danger involved. Most of the cars had no safty equipment at all IE: roll cages. I saw some trailered cars, but in reality i don't think they are 8 sec. cars at a track, and like Bigray said put a real race car up against them and they would be skunked in most cases.
But it's just a TV show and it will probably go over pretty big due to the like of knowledge of most of the viewing public.

My question is everything they are doing is REALLY illegal and yet they are filming it, using real names and showing businesses with ties to all the illegal actions. Could this not be used against them legally by law enforcement :?:

i would think it would cause it doesnt matter if its the cops dash board cam or the tv camera ..... your caught on tape

andamo 06-13-2013 10:19 AM

It's kind of ironic to see this sort of reality based program showing street racing, yet having the news media screaming about illegal street racing. Something is very wrong about having this type of program on TV. I suppose showing gang members selling dope and killing other people isn't too far off for the mentally challenged people that present this type of programming and the equally challenged viewers.

Swiley383 06-13-2013 10:23 AM

I thought the same thing about the cams filming moonshiners.

Haven't watched it. 8 second cars ???? would that be 8.0's or 8.90's ????? pretty Big difference there.

Anybody here ever made an 8 second pass ? if not what would be your quickest pass ?

Harbone 06-13-2013 03:27 PM

10.25 was my fastest in the 84 Camaro on alcohol

Swiley383 06-13-2013 04:15 PM

7.30 in the 1/8 I have never made a 1/4 mi pass

TheYellaBrick 06-13-2013 04:30 PM

Have not drag raced much, but while living in Denver, back in the late 70's, I campaigned a VW bug that did 13.0's wheels up through 2nd gear ..

bjuice 06-13-2013 05:05 PM

Bone 10.25 in a heavy 84 camaro is getting it.

Swiley you like me most 1/8th mile stuff round here. 7.30's is very respectable.

Brick 13's in a VW is OFF THE CHAIN MAN !!!!!!!!!

bjuice 06-13-2013 05:21 PM

Bone I love the TA and I know its all personal preference what I am about to say....man if that Bad boy had a rear axle mount STS twin turbo intercooled it would take it in my book to the 10TH power SUPERBAD...

I just like different...guess thats why I pulled out the muncie in the 73 camaro and went with a 6 speed. ...Now I am thinking and dreaming Pro-Charger electronic fuel injection or turbo...its just a dream at this point.....although I do have the rotating assembly on the shelf in the garage. Sonny Bryany Billlet crank with Big Block Snout, Billet Lentz Rods, forged Srp pistons. I have also thought about one of those pump gas 500ci small blocks. lol

Your TA is bad no matter what. Hope you don't mind me sharing my vision with your car. lol

Swiley383 06-13-2013 06:19 PM

I did make a 1/4 mi pass but only the 1/8 mi timer was on. My combo was just slightly different. That was at beech bend about 8years ago all there weekly bracket run 1/8except the street class I was just checking rpm.

That car was square tubed from the stock k-member back, all lexan windows and stripped inside. Did not weigh much. It was really geared for 1/8th mile so when I did run the 1/4 it was running out of juice and rear end gear in the traps. It did run a 6.38 in the 1/8th once and then they sent me home cause the car wasnt certified.

Did I mention it was baby blue? :D

Ok that adds up..these year camaros are pigs on the scale stock. .. You were in the ballpark with the 6.38 et 1/8th - 10.25 1/4. I only run the 1/4 handful of times..like you I was geared for 1/8....I would run consistant low 6 teens.. Might have run a .05 at one time. anyhow same car same gear Went a 9.92 @ 137mph in 1/4.

BEAST477 06-16-2013 01:26 PM

Been 8.99 once and a bunch of 9.0's. It takes a bunch more either cu in or juice to go 8.0's.

bjuice 06-17-2013 07:16 PM

Ok I just watched last 10 minutes of episode. I am calling BULLCHIT on a number of things I saw on THIS show...For #1 its on a shut down road and a ton of rubber laid down on the 60 ft ,wouldn't be surprised if VHT was used.if I saw right I think I saw a 60 ft timer light. Now don't know how many if you street raced in past but I came from this type racing late 70' and 80's..and I can tell you WITHOUT a doubt this ain't NOWHERE close to real street racing...AT NO time was a real street race even close to that.. Those are race cars on a prepped surface....I have NO problem saying I could round up a few local 10.5 Outlaw carsthat will cut their a$$. I will watch the midnight show to make sure I didn't miss anything but so far its a long way from a street car in a REAL STREET RACE. ...Nothing even close to a 4 second pass that I saw.. A real OUTLAW 10 tire car would eat their lunch !!!!

TheYellaBrick 06-17-2013 07:21 PM

I can't stand to watch ANY of the 'CAR' reality shows. There is so much BS and focus on the drama queens. No real MEAT/INFORMATION/KNOWLEDGE !

fast75vega 06-18-2013 04:27 AM

mofo's got trucks/ trailers... diesel pushers/trailers... parked all over the side of the "road" and didnt he say it was RT66? looks like an old airport runway or something. what about chuck getting off with a warning.... omg are you kidding me.... lol i dont understand the betting either..... $400 dollars..... really? i wouldnt even fire my car up for that.... plus it sure wont cover my bail money either!!

fast75vega 06-18-2013 04:34 AM

you cant even get the attention of the street/grudge racers around here unless you putting up 2k dollars or higher... i seen one race that was 10k but they did that one at the local track cause timing lights dont lie and id think someone would of ended up getting shot over 10k.... lol

bjuice 06-18-2013 05:01 AM

I watched it again at Mid night. Fell asleep before it ended. . Nahhhh I didn't miss anything the show before. ITS NOT STREET RACING OR STREET CARS AND FAR FROM OUTLAW CARS.

Most of the stuff I saw was high 6 second stuff in 1/8th low 7 sec.maybe a low 6 second car possible very high 5 second car I saw in the start of the show credits and those cars looked like the film snippet was from a track .... I am being VERY generous.

The only thing I saw that was close to street racing was the Flagman
He is not to smart my Outlaw Nova runs the 60 ft in 1.10 seconds. Flagman could not even react to get out of the way in that time frame. The 3,000 lb car is already running close to 75/80 mph at that point ( Guns Blazing)

Fastest outlaw car in the country ???? hmmmmmm wonder where my Nova would fit in ? LOL :D :D

Swiley383 06-18-2013 10:17 AM

I had the same thought about a closed road did not think about a old airport but it makes sences. The tow rigs seem like a dead giveaway that somthing is going on all the police would have to do is follow them in a unmarked car and wait.

bjuice 06-18-2013 12:52 PM

I have a few friends that have real trim street cars that will roll up with DOTs thru the mufflers and give them all they want. If some of you old timers on the forum remembers
My street trim, tag titled and insured 67 camaro. STREET DRIVEN. had a car seat in it ay the time. I posted a vid on RJ when I ran the 5.99et @ 116 mph. I Still have the Vid. I will find and repost

bjuice 06-18-2013 01:26 PM

Found it...All motor street legal, street driven, taged insured..

3004lbs 1st 5.99et pass. Excuse me it was 114 mph not 116
I was talking with Tom ( Topsportsman ) on the phone that day.

The car beside me is a consistant 6.50et bracket RACE CAR...you can see the difference in a 5.99 pass vs a 6.50 pass

Many of those guys are on yellowbullet . They don't claim to be street cars....they refer to them as " street raced cars" apparently the top ten lust is real and the races are real....but they do admit to them being on a closed airport that discovery channel rented. Those cars are crazy fast for being on the street....there is video if the white mustang going very low 5's in the eighth....the faster cars on top of the list are said to be in the high 4's low 5's. AGAIN race cars ran on the street not street cars. They claim the roads are not prepped like a track but that they do burnoose with pimp juice which does put list of rubber down on the road....lots of schit talking as well. They called out anyone on YB willing to race them on the street for 10k a couple of years ago and not one person took them up on it.

bigray 06-18-2013 04:06 PM

I will take some of that REAL street car drag racing, it's tagged. its got Insurance. and you can drive it to any gas station that sells E85 and fill up the 10 gallon fuel cell. and putting the side windows on fastners so they can be taken out, its a REAL street car, LOL. but still building the BIG motor for the street, either Blown or 600 inch plus, but still on E85 pump gas,

Tod74 06-18-2013 04:29 PM

They say they only race on the street....eighth mile.

outlaw256 06-19-2013 07:43 AM

back in the early 80s we streetraced big time in tn.won over 30,000$ in a 12 month period. lots of money back then and it wasn't no talkin shi- just looked each other over and paid the holder....but nothing like they show on tv..mine was justa 55 chevy that would turn 10.92 in the 1/4.not to bad for the times....

bigray 06-19-2013 02:21 PM

she is a slow turd right now, just have one of the shop motors in it, its a SBC, made a few passes just to check the trans and the 4 link set up. only went a 11.89 LOL. but the car is Brand New, only been in the burn out box 3 times, may put a pro charger on it, but probably gonna be a blower motor, it weighs in at 2440 no driver.

Thats a quick time today for any street car really quick for a 55. !!!!!!!

Outlaw I have also seen this kind of money bet on races..I have personally been in on $1,000 bets but I have been present when 10k has changed hands. It got really hairy for a little bit. I was a spectator but knew of both camps. Tom (Topsportsman) on here from up Maine has been down here to our local track and saw the grudge gambling 1st hand. There is a lot of FAST no time grudge cars from the south. I am sure sea-level atmosphere plays its part . Go to you tube "House of Hook" grudge racing and you will see what I am speaking of. Click on the different links. Remember the name "KILLIN TIME" Steve Jackson is his name. He is a white boy who wears a sunvisor. He runs a mustang that runs 4.19et - @ 186 mph (1/8th) on 29 inch tires.. He is backed by many known and unknown black guys that has a TON of money among them. Steve is not the only racer they back ..These guys are VERY SERIOUS about locking in grudge bets for BIG MONEY. . Before my daughter was born I lived at grudge races Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. I would not carry the wife nor kid cause its too hardcore. Even when things run smooth its very loud hard ragging which is big tension. The drivers / owners almost never go at it. Its the backers and all the side bets. these guys on this new show is a joke....like I said go to you tube. Key words ; House of Hook, Piedmont (same place) Steve Jackson, Killing Time ( NAME OF HIS CAR). NDCUT. (Name of guy that shoots a lot of video). watch some of this and tell me how serious it looks.
Later Juice

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObDUSo4ZVPY

here is David Hance same street trim 29 inch Drag radials 3.99 et in the 1/8th..I do not know much about Hance and Grudge racing but I know Stevei and his crew will Lock it in for some serious cash

and these guys on that show got the nerve to call themselves fastest Outlaw cars in the world or whatever....lol yeahhh boy
