Don't wanna sound like a wiseass here, but when you ask your valve train to do more than it was designed to do, generally, you start finding the chain of "Weak Links" . . Performance demands longer Valve opening times (duration) and greater Openings (Lift). The duration won't hurt much, but lift will kill you . .

Springs, keepers and rocker studs are gonna know you're trying to "Cheat" on 'em . .

If you want to sound bad at a stoplight, pull a plug wire and take off the muffler. If you want it to get on the tire, get out the wallet and don't get too crazy with the lift . .

Super Chevy has a current series article called modern mouse. Lot of information no matter how biased it is.

LOGAN,

WITH THE TORQUE OF THE LS ENGINES, IT WILL PROBLY FEEL LIKE YOU GAINED 250 HP. ALSO, I SEEN YOU WERE TALKING REARENDS, GET A 8.8 FROM A EXPLORER, TRAC LOC POSI, 31 SPLINE AXLES, 370 OR 410 GEARS, DISC BRAKES, YOU CAN GET ONE FOR 150.00 AT BADGER.. IF YOU BUILD A COMPARABLE 9 INCH IT WILL COST YOU AROUND 1700.00 ... I HAVE A 8.8 IN MY 68 CAMARO AND IT IS TOUGHER THAN NAILS... RYAN

hotrod1994 06-23-2012 08:07 PM

MY 4.10'S IN THE NOVA WOULD BE WOUND OUT 100 FT BEFORE THE TRAPS AT KAUKAUNA WITH THE 383 I HAD IN THERE.. RANS 11.30'S AT 120 WITH IT... A EVEN BETTER SETUP IS IN MY 57, 370 GEARS, 4L60E TRANS, 5.3 ENGINE, GREAT LAUNCH, FAST, AND REALLY NICE ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH...
