Just a heads up people.
I have been dealing with a "member" on RJ since Oct 2011 on a TCI converter and B&M Pro Stick shifter. I sent him a money order(big mistake on my part) because he said he wasn't set up for Paypal. Well,the red flags should have been flying right there but silly me have trust in people and have never had a problem dealing with the fine people here on RJ. Evertime I messaged this so called member I got the runaround and he was skirting my questions saying the parts were shipped and that he had tracking numbers to prove it. Kinda funny but everytime I asked for the tracking numbers he came up with yet another excuse. He even tried to say that the parts were on their way but for some reason the mailing address was torn off and the shifter was sent back to him. Supposedly he said he resent the shifter to me but no parts arrived,not even a tracking number that I requested.

So people,beware if you have any dealings with a member from Markham Texas who goes under the username GARAYRACING. His name is JOE GARAY and if you know him,you know a bad person. If you don't know him,keep it that way. It will save you grief and money.

Well isn't that something.He has been ripping people off all over and he should be stopped but I have no idea how to find someone from a box number.
I wonder if the people on his friends list knows what kind of person he is?

Another week has gone by and still no parts. Surprise,surprise. You say you are losing parts,well you have tracking numbers for the post office to find them. Or,my bet is there never was any tracking numbers because there was never any parts sent.
I guess we will see what happens in the next couple weeks if you refund me or not. My feeling is you won't.

now the guy with the console he got it 4 months later it was sitiing in a post office in san diego....i have not hid from novamaniac,i have replied to every email above..i am just getting bashed,which i totally understand...but i did get he stall and shlifter back sat and i did email him about it and i will send it out again ,they are being returned not deliverable..i am not a scammer...i even told him i would even issue a refund....but the parts keep coming back to me saying they are not deliverable, i am losing here also, all the money i have paid to ship them over and ever again

Its a strange thing that everytime I buy or sell There is always a death in the other persons family????
1 More thing, buy in your own country next time.

Sometimes shipping to Canada, parts will sit in customs and get returned if the documentation is not correct.

The parts were probably never shipped and Mr. Joe is just trying to make it loook like my fault. As people will be able to read from our messaging back and forth how many times I requested a tracking number and how many times Mr. Garay skirted the answer.
It amazes me how all of a sudden the parts(both of them now)have arrived back to him because they were undeliverable.Again,he must think I am stupid or something because I find it very hard to believe that now the shifter was returned to him twice now.I gave him the proper mailing address twice so unless he isn't reading what I am writing there is no reason why the parts shouldn't arrive to me.I have purchased lots of parts from good,honest people here on RJ and no problems receiving them until now.
I'm not bashing you on here Joe,just telling the truth.It appears this isn't your first go around on screwing people over and I wanted these people to be aware of you.These people can see and make their judgement themselves just from the runaround messages.

Now that he has the parts back i would try to get my money back and call it a day.
A letter is going to make it, i would stress a certified letter with signature at delivery

SHIP THE GUY'S PARTS AND PROVIDE TRACKING NUMBERS OR REFUND HIS MONEY. ANYTHING ELSE IS PURE BS. :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

4 months? Come on man, nothing could be done at this point to convince me your not a common thief who should be horse whipped.

I thought I had seen the name before,He sold me a pair of carbs I needed for my Xsram Intake as being only 6 months old,They were old, & the floats were just sitting in the bowls..They were junk! After complaining about it to him he of course blamed some other guy he had bought them from...Needless to say I had to put out the money to get them right..I wouldnt buy from him & told him so..I think he picks up junk at the swapmeet & resells,Which nothings wrong with if you dont buy & sell junk as good parts..I did take photos of the carbs..

Well it looks as though he can't be trusted and he has the nerve to say I am trashing him on the RJ site. Maybe he should take a good look at himself and see why he is being trashed. As far as my dealings with him goes,I will be lucky to see any parts or even a refund for that matter.

I got this message from a guy over on the NastyZ forum when I asked about Mr Garay...

Yes he is a crook!!! He had a set of sbc hooker header side pipes for sell. Claimed they fit a camaro a 70 camaro. I have a 70 camaro,well they didn't fit. I think they will fit a chevelle,they stuck out the side about 8".

He told me i need big block motor mounts then they would fit. B.S.! So I have a set of hooker header side pipes that I can't use or know what they fit for sure??

Then he pops back on under a different user name annd the frist thing he did was to talk shit about my car. So he got banned again. I wasn't the frist to get ripped off by him hopefully I was the last one here.

He got me for a little over $600.00 never use wal-mart for money trans actions because they dodn't cover them for theft etc. like paypal dose.

Hopr your friend didn't get took to bad! That's why I have him down in my sig. so people can see is name and look out for him.

Just a question about Mr. Garay but has anyone posted on the NastyZ forums to not deal with him? I think people should be made aware of him and warned to not have dealings with him. I have no problem putting the word out but I need a username he uses to do it.

Its been posted on NastyZ and he is actually barred from the website. The guy he ripped off over there just signed up for this forum and will be over soon to tell his story in person :D

I asked for a refund for the parts from Mr. Garay and got this response from him:

1) The whole side pipe fitment issue is not really a scam, as much as perhaps a mistake or misrepresentation issue. The guy paid for an item and got an item. 2) 4 months to ship parts to Canada or refund money is inexcusable. I have shipped stuff in the past to Canada and it is actually faster than shipping some places in the US actually. However it will get hung up in customs and there are customs fees depending on the declared value listed on the package the receiver has to pay. Now, if the shipper put down the item had no value or was a gift or lied about the customs value, well then that's US Customs fraud, a federal crime :shock: .It would be sad if he did that...

3) 4 months to square up is absolutely inexcusable. My dad died of cancer and I was flying to NC to bury him, and I had previous obligations to ship items I had sold on Ebay and I made it a point to have my wife drop them off for me the morning I left...You know what, they could have waited a few days or even a week giving the circumstances, but why give the guy excuses and make my problem his problem. He didn't loose a dad, I did..I dealt with my issues personally and didn't make others suffer due to my suffering..That's how things work and that is how you do business...


I just cant understand how i have had so many freakin ads on RJ and have literally sold 1 thing, a $100 used pair of shocks...And these scammers are selling and selling and selling crap and ripping people off on a daily basis..It just seems like people like to get ripped off...I mean are you rally saving that much money in the long run when you buy something 2nd hand online from a stranger, that new from a reputable source?? :roll:

I wouldn't buy from ghustler just because he seems to take up for scammers in every instance. The man bought parts for his car and was shipped something else, what his tastes are don't matter because its his car. So according to you he should be scammed because he is not doing something to his car that you approve of.
