You're right he didn't, he also didn't post anything about running gas. Just didn't want him to think the .045" was a gap for anything.

Yeah, most guys don't know any better.   Just kidding, I have run methanol since I started and never messed with racing gas.

Gas, what's Gas :?: That's what i put in my lawn mower, ATV and tow vehicle. Alcohol is what i've ran for yrs. and cost about $2.00 a gal. added the extra burn of 1.66% over gas that's still less than $4.00 a gal, VS $10.00/$12.00 racing gas, and when you tear down for a re-up the pistons and most parts still look brand new. Except for the blower motor

so we all agree ngk-9 .025-- .035 alc
ngk-8 .035--.045 gas     Everyone does things different ;but this will get you close  That's why we are competitors    |

Remove the foam from your fuel cell if it has any.

Ding, Ding, Ding.... We have a winner. On race gas in a drag SBC with your combo run 7's. I only run 8's in my 15.5 to 1 SB2 head small block. The only two reasons to run a colder plug would be in a forced induction setup, blower turbo or NOS, or maybe a step colder with methanol. Maybe. If you have E85 in the area a much better overall choice for fuel, you will need to make sure the fuel system is capable of passing enough fuel and a carb properly modified. |
what do you have to do to run e85.i have a place that has it for 2.75 a gallon..
