bjuice 10-21-2010 07:51 PM

the steering wheel came off rare piece..thats for sure...but can't say what the parts for these go for.

dragonmaster093 10-21-2010 07:57 PM

you could probibly get one from aftermarket for like 2200-2400 less just not a original but to mee its way over priced

if you don't have an all orginal 1966 shelby GT with a missing steering wheel I would say its over priced.....lol

point i am making is give us Facts why you come to the conclusion this original part (steering wheel) is over priced....also before you start making your point aftermarket parts do not come into play when your restoring with orginal parts

dragonmaster093 10-21-2010 08:26 PM

i was just giving my opinion is all plus
http://www.carrollshelbyenginecompan...cat=271&page=1

Scotty2 10-22-2010 03:35 AM

it's the old story....want to play got to pay :P

hollowayshotrods 10-22-2010 04:07 AM

I am sorry I didn't do any research before I started this thread!
The FACT is, I was just trying to make some conversation among friends, it seems to have upset some folks..........sorry about that. I have no idea if it is overpriced, and really don't give a crap if it is or isn't.
JUST TRYING TO MAKE CONVERSATION WITH FRIENDS IS ALL I WANTED TO DO!!
DRAGON, thanks for adding the Shelby site info, that should clear some things up.

BTW, did anyone notice I started the thread as a QUESTION, not a statement?

whoooooo Rudy...ain't nobody upset here.....can I not make a statement on a thread ?...i'm i not your friend ?

if you think i should not be able to post my opinion on a thread or ask someone some facts or for their opinions let me know why.

also why did you change your original post ? I didn't think we would have to stamp your post as we do many who change up in Mid- Flight...
so no-one can see if you were asking a statment or Question cause you Changed it....Why ?

but if thats how you want mine and your on-line releationship thats fine..I can treat you the same as i do other people that come in here that have tried to jingle my balls over the years...... so i have no problems with This..

just didn't expect it would come down to you Rudy....oh well so be it....ok ball in your court.

MEMRACING62 10-22-2010 04:26 AM

I work the swap meets with a friend that does a lot of selling, he is into 30's & 40's fords, it amaze's me sometimes what some parts will bring & what some dont. repops are the last resort if you are doing a true resto. when I was chasing down that stupid grill emblem I was like a kid on christmas morning waiting for the ups truck!! Its hard to find a part to a car that they made 4100 of.

MEMRACING62 10-22-2010 04:37 AM

I cant see why anybody would get there fur up about anything in this thread, heck, I laugh at myself at what I will pay for something if I realy want it. ITS ALL IN FUN! :)

So if thats the case Rudy and you WERE NOT speaking toward me, then over look my Post

bjuice 10-22-2010 05:06 AM

nahhh never mind...rudy aimed that at me...i saw where he stamped my Post at the bottom of his reply....Gezzz...Wtf...beleieve it or not i still ainlt Upset...maybe a little disapointed but thats it.

hollowayshotrods 10-22-2010 05:09 AM

Brian,
Treat me as you wish, don't make the mistake of thinking I will run from you though. If you are my friend you would be able to take what I said with a grain of salt! Of course you are my friend, if I "jingled your balls" so be it. I have had my balls jingled by my friends as well! Damn that sounds weird!!!!! Folks that are really friends don't get too wadded up about very small matters during conversation.

Now, my beef with you is to question my integrity/credibility because I did an edit to my post......................................Helluva accusation to suggest I changed the title to my thread to make myself look better! I resent that considering I have been here for nearly three years, not so much as a peep about my integrity. I am a PAYING member AND make my honor payments. Not much more I can do to represent myself as a respectable person.
I did my edit to ADD the last sentence in my post, the one below:
"BTW, did anyone notice I started the thread as a QUESTION, not a statement?"
I would think with all your moderator tools, you can check to see if I changed the title to my thread. (I am being serious, not sarcastic).

If my integrity is questionable to you, feel free to ignore me and remove me from your friends list on the "other side" of RJ. I hope it doesn't come to that, but if it does "so be it".

I use to laugh, but after years of buying crap and doing things I should have never done now I cry. I could have a small fortune in the bank with all the $ I've peed away. (and still going to pee away).
I have plans to one day sell all my stuff for what I THINK IT'S WORTH.

Harbone 10-22-2010 08:04 AM

I usually have to pay someone to "jingle my balls"!!
on a more serious note I hope that we can all calm down, step back and take a breathe. We already lost Scorp to bickering, it almost makes me sick... :(

dragonmaster093 10-22-2010 08:33 AM

brian i kinda took what you said you were snapping at me hence why i put my second post i know to run down original oem parts is a m/f and there ar a/h who want to retire off our passion and if some one on here gets testy or what i presume to be snappy i just figure they are having a bad day. we all know when it comes to car the value is in on knowledge, how bad its needed and what someone can squeeze out of us. just dont wanna see us old guys bickering over opinions and bad days

thanks guys

Tod74 10-22-2010 03:04 PM

I don't think Brian was "snapping" at anyone or belittleing anyone etc etc.AND RUDY IN MY OPINION I do not think he or anyone else was questioning your integrity. I think he was just pointing out that original parts can be hard to find and if someone is restoring a car as original then they will pay what they need to to get the parts they need. Just my take on it I sorta think things got misunderstood by many, that's all.

What makes somebody an a/h for putting something out on the market for sale & asking a high price. supply & demand will determine its actual value with the final sale price, that's buisness!

I agree. That's why I like EBAY, Because my asking price is always the same "all I can get"

dragonmaster093 10-22-2010 07:33 PM

all im saying is there is a dair price and then there are the other guys
just like the guys who want tons for a plapped out car but then they want to give nothing for what you have im more of a fair price i might start out high but that way i have wiggle room for what i want and everyone comes out feeling like they won i get close to what i actually want and the other person feels they got me talked down.

I hear ya Sam. Just like a good deal.

Definition of a good deal: When both parties think the other guy got screwed

suicidebomb 10-22-2010 10:13 PM

It's a bit early for "jingle balls", we ain't got Halloween, and Thanksgiving, over yet.

good points however nobody holds a gun to someones head and forces them to buy something. It is their choice to either pay the price, buy a repop, or walk away completely. There are people out there that will try and take advantage of you though. That's why you should never post that you are looking for a certain dated ,certain casting number block or trans etc.
Once someone knows you are building something date correct etc there are people that will jack the price up because they know you are more likely to pay.

MEMRACING62 10-23-2010 05:19 AM

We purchase a lot of our tools, equipment etc at auction. if you are at an auction and are interested in an item, look over it , make sure it is what you want & without problems you can see......dont hover over it or show to much interest in it, in most cases you are being watched by the equipment owner or his shill. dont be the first one to bid it, be one of the last. sellers look for the guy with his tongue hanging out of his mouth with the gotta have it eyes. If you are that guy, you will be bidding against the owner. DONT CATCH AUCTION FEVER!!

Well if people blame me for that one then that is too bad I suppose. I respectfully asked him if he knew something for a fact or if he was assuming. He decided to get sarcastic. I showed several sites that suggested he may be wrong and he got upset.Never did he offer anything to back up his statements., other than "I've been to college and you have not" type of statements. He listed "Business Law" as his occupation in his profile. People see that and assume he knows what he is saying. I believe in that instance he was incorrect,at least partially. If he left because of that disagreement then he needs to get thicker skin.I don't just blindly accept anything as truth from an annonymous internet poster. Anyone that reads that thread can see that my first response that started that whole mess was very respectfull. He was the one who started the sarcasm and down talking. With that said I'm sorry he left. He did a lot to help people.

MEMRACING62 10-23-2010 12:43 PM

NO ..NO..TOD, no blame, I thought it was a good topic for a spirited discussion. just dont know how it so quickly turned into a spitting match. knowbody knows it all & I try to learn from everybodys experiences. On the point you were making in that thread I agree with you, I am in court about once a month to testify on eviction notices that I have served. I will say this, there is the law as written, and there is what the judge says it is (at least here in cook co il) , and that will vari from judge to judge.

Last post here Tod.

So what do I do? Do you know? Should you even care? Likely not but since you want to quote my profile and Business law, let me share.

I handle Qualified Plans Compliance- Essentially working with pension and other types of programs to ensure legal and requlatory compliance- these are called ERISA Plans- Employee Retirement Income Security Act programs. I work with attorneys daily including two ERISA Counsel and two firms in DC and Baltimore.

Did you know that nearly every position comment I placed on here I vouched with Counsel? Why? To ensure that the info was CORRECT. Granted its not a useful as your regularly inane posts and comment nonsense like "Where is my Fishtank" . That's always been a huge help on the scammer Forum.

As for saying"I went to college and you didnt" - misquote Partner. Read the posts- I said that is the position that my instructor took. I also mentioned she was a presiding judge so I was confident of that info. I didnt mention that I floated it over lunch with Counsel- And why would I? It doesnt measure up to your web citations :)

I know exactly what got your panties in a knot :)

What I will do for you is send a link to your posts on Centerline wheels to them directly. I doubt they will do anything, but maybe if your multitude of web sources are correct perhaps they will find you of interest.

Of course if its just your opinion maybe not.

And I dont have a thin skin Tod- I just dont like you.

What a shame that it has to go this direction. Sometimes you have to agree to disagree. Looks like a matter of opinion. Everyone is allowed one...JMO

Wow..you don't like me. BOO HOO.
I don't like you either Scorp. You are a know it all prick. You act like everyone should bow down to you because you can look people up on intellis or whatever the hell you use.

I aknowledged that you know more than I do about legal issues. That is obvious. I respectfully asked a question and you got sarcastic. I couldn't care less what you send to CENTERLINE I posted the facts.
I agree you can't believe everything you read. The links I posted were from legal websites. One referenced what I think is refered to as case law but it doesn't matter. I don't pretend to know the law, THAT'S WHY I ASKED!! Yet all you did was cop an attitude because I dared to question you.

I will say you are more than likely correct. My issue was your attitude. When asked if your statement was fact or assumption you decided to talk down to me. You can keep talking about the FISH TANK post all you want. You have now posted "Where's My Fishtank?" more than I have. That was a lame joke tossed in I think 2 times in LITTLEROD threads that had already gotten completely off topic.

This is a racing forum and I have yet to see you contribute one bit to that aspect of it. You're too busy pretending to be a lawyer.

Now you can go screw yourself for all I care.
