Scammed
 

Just got scammed on ebay on a 56 f-100. Sent $8,500.00 to an account in Ca. Went on ebay sight under my account, they said the truck never existed on ebay. Even the trucking co. was fake. sqz-transport.net,the truck was in racing junk also under fardakit40. :evil: :evil: :evil: Can anyone help? The only name I have is Robert Simon from Eugene ,OR 97402 This gets better and better, took 2 hours to actually talk with a real person, they said it was not ebay but a duplicate sight with my account, figure this out. :?: :?: :?: Wanna talk to a real person on ebay 1-800-701-3229 and use any 6 numbers then press #

RJ Ad # , who was the actual person you sent your money to, phone #. And any other info you have will help, How did you buy from an ebay auction that never existed?

Also why in the world would you send 8500 bucks to someone for something you have never seen ? I dont care if they say payment is due within 48 hours or not. I would never send more then 100 bucks to cover thier costs, until I got to see it in person. If they dont like that then its time to walk away from the deal.

Again we need the RJ ad # and any other info you have. Its kinda hard to hang someone without the rope !

Did you ever talk to this person on the phone before sending the money? I would hope so and get as much personal info as possible just to cover your butt a little.
How did you make payment? Depending how might make it easier to get it back.

His rj number has been removed,they hacked into my ebay account and checked inspected to release the funds.

I agree something doesn't add up here, why would you send a payment to CA, when the truck is listed in OR. I'm not saying it didn't happen. I got scammed about 5 yrs. ago on a second offer for a fuel injection unit for $1050.00, sent the payment too a different address, via Western Union. The invoice was an Ebay invoice, don't know how they did it but, but Ebay sorry it was not our invoice. I was very stupid and needed the injection badly. That was when i had only 3 ebay transactions and was very nieve. I now have over 50 transactions on ebay @100%. It's just there are spammers on ebay who prey of first time users, and sometime we can fall for these scammers, i did once but never again.

I tell you i was on ebay and everything was real, some how they got into my account. yes i wired the money and it was on hold for a few days with ebay then poof :evil:

Oh man.... you are never going to believe this. I am astonsihed myself; I believe this truck belonged to an old aquantance of mine in the early 90's. I am pretty sure I have riden in it. I remember us taking it to the coast once here in Oregon a long time ago... I think that Craigs list truck is the one I remember!!! Believe me, there are olny few Purple F100 (53-56) that look like this. This guy & his dad restored it while he was in high school. I can't remember his name... I LIVE in Eugene, Oregon!! This truck that Scorp has posted is near Eugene in Monroe (about 1/2 hr away). The population is low... like about 8000 maybe. Small world!!! I think I have seen it @ the local Juction City (near Monroe) cruise a couple of times when I drove my Camaro. Weird!!! I wonder if i can be of assistance. Scoot

did you respond to a second chance offer that was made to your e-mail ,but not in your ebay messages . If so that is a scam. I recieved a couple of those & forwarded them to ebay and they said its a scam . (it looks real!!) . dont respond to them.

Hemi, you are correct. I followed one of those scams once on a "to good to be true deal" including a buyer protection program through E-bay. It was fairly well done down to the contract/forms; but end the end, it was a money gram scam. In the end, I don't really think there would be much of trail if I would have bought the bait. I would have been out the money & had no transaction number or anything to prove it. Being that I am not computer saavy,I would have not know how to electronicly back track it very well. I am really sorry if this dude lost 8500. I still want to know if this is the truck that Scorp mentioned on E-bay too. If it is, I can do some investigation to find it... or not. Scoot
