whitch brand of front tires to buy whitch is best

Phoenix, hoosier, goodyear, etc they're all good.
Wheter one brand is better than the other? Well that is probably a toss up.

Usually it boils down to brand/price preference for some, not so for others.


I just matched what I had on the back - phoenix's all 4 corners.

Reality is that Goodyears are probably the best, otherwise all the pro cars wouldn't be running them. More expensive yes, i've got MT's on the front of my Malibu, i'm sure they are good for 200 mph or more, Goodyears run 330 mph plus. I think they are all safe otherwise they wouldn't be approved by NHRA.

I would say that Goodyear or Hoosier you can't go wrong on. I have never had success getting a MT tire to hold air. On our dragster, we have gotten the best life out of a Hoosier.

I run Moroso front and MT rear. Hey Shawn I found that coating the sidewalls with dish soap using a foam brush has solved the leaking problem. So far so good anyhow.

also knock on wood, gy,hoosier and mt rears I've never had a leak and do nothing but mount them. My MT front runners . have 1 that leaks like a SOB .. cant wait to get new hoosiers lol

Tried it all with MT. Used murphys soap, used dawn dish soap and even did what MT recommended by soaping, let dry and then re-soap and mount. Always had flats by the next weekend.

Well I guess I got lucky then. Did mine in june or july and then when I put it in the trailer for winter aired them up to 20 psi and sometime after christmas when i checked them they were still fine.

stupid question, coat the inside of tire or out?

Inside i have found if you put about 8 oz. of dish soap inside the rear slick if you don't run tubes, it somehow seals the leaks. I don't know about front runners, because i've never had them leak that much. But i don't run dragster front runners.

My phoenix rear slicks used to leak like a sum biitch, took out valve core, poured in approx a cup of dish soap in each one & wallah, no more leaks.

the soap acts as a home remedy of FIX-A-FLAT..just run tubes on rear,we have found some of the local high hp oulaw guys are having fewer tire shakes with rear tubes and they are just as quick.while the guys not running tubes claiming too much rotating weight and heat
