http://www.racingjunk.com/category/9...chevrolet.html

this guy claims it makes over 1000hp ... I think he is off a few

zipper06 12-16-2009 09:43 AM

Dreamer, maybe in a 1800 lb dragster 4.90, did you also notice that's a 3 3/4" toilet bowl.
Sounds like you have been doing it all wrong David. :P

Zip.

RonOwensRacing 12-16-2009 09:57 AM

That's one I would have to see for myself.
I have ran 540's for years and a pretty good one also and the best I ran in a 3600 lb door car was 5.68.

He should show these guy's how to build engine's.

jjentracing 12-16-2009 10:01 AM

badass 540

I sent him a couple of messages telling him he had a typo...he responded it was no typo, just a good motor!

He will not respond back now.

oldandtired 12-16-2009 10:24 AM

A member for 6 days... do you think it is scam and run?
Dave

itsabird 12-16-2009 10:49 AM

pretty stout number, for the particulars at any rate.

hammertime 12-16-2009 11:14 AM

he also told me his 350 ran 6.00 @ 3200lbs ... must be a sb and a bb weight is the same now lol

bowtie4542001 12-16-2009 11:24 AM

Maybe I can get him to build me a sbc for my car.

ProCamaro85 12-16-2009 11:55 AM

i dont know.Sometimes people get lucky. It depends on how everything work.I built a 406 SBC and i dont know how but it runs 6.20s in the 1/8th on motor with cast iron heads and a big cam.I dont know how but when me and my dad built it we got everything working together, and working right.

dragonmaster093 12-16-2009 12:15 PM

Sorry, but I dont think he got lucky with it. I can believe you and your 406 that runs 6.20's. A friend of mine has a 406 that runs 6.teens.

I think the reason for the chain is he was draggin it behind a 10.5 car or something.

What he's got there it is impossible.

I sent him more messages and told him good luck selling it. Told me a few minutes ago he sold it!

I told him someone is gonna be real dissapointed...

Sorry, but stuff like this just ruins the site for everyone trying to sell something legitimate.

BEAST477 12-16-2009 12:31 PM

Sounds like there is a sucker born every minute.

Well, we'll probably hear from that guy later on how he got ripped off.

ProCamaro85 12-16-2009 12:50 PM

you guys are right.I very seriously doubt it has 1000 hp and runs what he says it runs.I say it might have about 650-800 max..it may run high 5's

Amen brother, if we had a dime for every thousand horsepower big block at dairy queen that ends up running 12 second quarter mile times at the track...............
I did not even bother red tagging this one with hammer because the claim is soooooooo obviously BS.
To pile on the reality, My 1200 HP 582" runs 4.79ET at 146 MPH and a 1.086 60' time, using a three speed trans at 2330# give or take.
Your car is very fast with 1500HP Brian, that is for sure, I have been very impressed with your performance #s

Bruce

thanks Bruce but i cannot take any credit for the car working the way it Does....Alan Pittman and Tony Christian get all the credit for that...i Don't dare touch their chassis set up.... the only thing i do is adjust with the Nos computer by putting power in and taking it out as track can handle it...the gear retard stuff on the laptop really is a Big factor by ramping timing back in...Many people think the larger the shot the faster you go ( including me) up until this past year.....ohhhh but little did i know its all how the Nos is brought in and applied over course of the run including timing ramping
