I'm thru with Force Racing
I do not wish anyone harm but I wish team Force would never win another round. John gives Robert the good lane, cut a .209 light and smoked the tires to make triple sure Hight would be in the countdown.
I liked him at one time, but he is another person now. JMO Dave |
man i thought tony and john were going to strap, but the thing is
they all do it, even don shuchmachers team did it with his funny cars, i don't agree with it cause i do think hight could have taken john, and fans don't pay good money to see monopoly. and one yr line spun the tires to let doug get thru, that's the problem with multiple team cars  |
That's the reason I don't race Funny Car.
|
yep, that looked bad,

Mike Dunn said it all on today's broadcast, backing up Tony's statment. Force is aways a guarateed 25% on finals and now John fell on the sword for Hight. This way Force is guarateed 40% (4/10) final countdown.
The last honest run was Melony against her husband, Tommy. He raced and she did not make the countdown. John Force - you have runined NHRA. I know you made a fortune with your TV show, and taking all the TV exposure on ESPN. The only the support you have is with newbies. They are keeping you afloat. They know just don't know better............... The die hard know you are a media slut. Your daughter has now won Indy, so now she can gain 100 pounds and give you grandkids and she can float away......................................... Castrol - I wil never buy you products again If I had Auto Club of CA insurance, I would cancel. Ford Motor Company - I am ashamed of you. Again JMP. Dave |
Luckily I've chosen the correct opinion on this situation.
|
i did not see the actual race and when i saw a replay it looked
real bad, he should have redlighted instead, dunn had already paved the way for him by mentioning the way he was over staging the light and making it flicker, a red light would have worked better, but driving into the wall was a real bad choice 8) and it looked bad when they exchanged words too, made their sponsors look bad 8) |

WOW,
WHEW!!!!! Force was Pi$$ed. Looks like the level of professionalism that should be demonstrated in front of millions of fans was not above brow today guys, WOW.... What can you say... Yeah that race was dupped, but nothing in the rule books say you can't do it. Thats what happends when you need 4+ million per car to reace every year..... I bet it was chapping Tony's rump that forces girl did beat him today and that she won the nationals. When your daddy has that kind of money, you can do amazing things. Looked like Tony was hoping Force would hit him so he could own a bigger racing team, LOL |

I didn't see it, but heard all about it. For me It's been really hard to listen to John's TV interviews for a long time. I gets on my nerves so bad during his goofy interviews! |
I dont see anything wrong with what John did. If he threw the race he has evey right to choose to loose. As a Team owner he is in a hard position. I know what it takes to keep sponcers happy, and in this ecnomy he has to hold on to every one he has. Every time you race you have the option to loose. I say this as I am not a Force fan, not before Indy or after.

John was already under the gun from all the other Funny car drivers for alledgedly talking the NHRA into manipulating the "4 test only" rule earlier in the season from their original rules laid out. So he basically was a target already & then this! I was there, it was obvious. His choice yes, but in no way the right way to play. It was good to see Ashley win, but this definitly took alot away from it. I used to have respect for him. As a person, not much now. His career & things he's accomplished, you can't take that lightly. I just hope NHRA does something, because they're losing this game by their own actions. It was obvious in the crowd & the overall feel of what's to be the biggest race of the year. It just wasn't the same anyway you looked at it.

I see nothing wrong with what he did.Racing is a business and he made a business decision.
|
he might have made a good business or team decesion, but
his outburst made him look bad, and for me, i would'nt want to go where a team can determine the out come and we don't get to see the best of the best go at it, come on, john should have just red lighted and it would have looked better  |
Dale Sr played that 'team' blocking game and lost....JF coulda very easily been bench racing with DE sr right now if 'things' had of gone wrong. It's dangerous enough without 'manipulating' outcomes.......

carma is a bitch

BTW what the hell did Castrol oil, Autoclub of America Etc have to do with any of this? They are just sponsors, not like they were out there driving the car(s). To say I'm not going to buy or use any of their products is taking matters out of context. I dont dislike or like D/S racing or J/F racing (but I would bone his daughter) I do use Castrol oil and I have a dam good Schumacher Battery charger. JMO>Cp |

Ok I dont agree with all the jawin afterwards its NHRA not WWE...
But as far as the dive, what is the problem? My dad and I run the same class and I am currently leading the points. If him and I line up its a W on my side. My car "wouldnt start" when I was racing my friend who was one round out of making the bracket finals team. Isnt that the point of a team? If you were running a family member who needed a win, would you give it all you had or maybe a little less than your best? |

Well at least this is a start! From NHRA website:
NHRA levies fine against John Force Thursday, September 10, 2009 Funny Car racer John Force has been fined $10,000 by NHRA for an incident involving physical contact with an NHRA official Monday, Sept. 7, during the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Lucas Oil at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis. Videotape from the event showed Force making physical contact with an NHRA official at the top end of the racetrack during a confrontation with fellow Funny Car driver Tony Pedregon. Such physical contact violates the Participant Conduct policy as stated in the 2009 NHRA Rulebook. The fine, which Force can appeal, must be paid in full prior to participation at any future NHRA event. |
I knew he would get fined. All the chest pumping and bumping that was going on I am surprised a punch did not get thrown. If you watch the video Ashley stands off to the side during the whole thing and right towards the very end she walks over to her dad and kind of waves him off, he turns around and walks away. The power of a woman is still truely unknown. I too would bone ANY of his daughters! 8)

hardbone,
I am trying to maintain a level of professionalism here regarding your notation about the force girls, but I must admit, If I ever had a chance to jump in the sack with any of the force girls, I would split them in half like a nickle orange Sorry Mr. Force. I tried to keep it clean... JMO |

$10K fine is peanuts. Since we knew what the outcome was going to be, John should have never brought his car in the staging lanes. Just let Robert run a single.
I have never been a fan of Frank, Tony and expecially the Cruzer. There just comes a point where too much is too much. At this rate, NHRA will be the 8 blue cars vs the 8 red cars. JMO...Dave |

The NHRA official said they were running an enquiry and checking Forces data logger and set up. If anything was obviously rigged, eg stupid clutch settings, he'd be busted. That's why he went for the wall rather than go up in smoke off the line. Force is a has been and needs to retire. His interviews are a frickin joke... the mans had too many bangs on the head. A similar "fight of words" broke out at the Nats where I am. The drivers involved were fined and one was banned from driving for six months. I think Force needs to be brought down a peg or two...ban the man!!!! |

To put into a better perspective, It is very hard to prove someone took a hit for the team, I am sure that if it could be proven, somewhere in the rule book theres some corrective action that could be placed on the team deemed to have enacted on such an event. I guess my question is "To what extent and which action has the most severe outcome if taken"? Maybe to lose a race and pay the fine is less painful than the loss of a championship? Not defending either party, but "WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU FOUND YOURSELF IN A SIMILAR SITUATION"? Would you take the dive or give her hell even if it knocks your team mate out of the race? |
force racing was fined 10k for putting his hands on a NHRA official
in a physical manner, so far 8) |

I know what you are saying but I bet it would be very difficult to use anything from the tune up as "evidince" It could always be argued they were trying this or that.....unless it is NOT a situation of proof but rather Judgement...meaning "what we say goes this isn't a debate" if that makes sense. |
Its real easy to simply set the clutches to lock up way too soon and you'll be up in tire smoke. He did that racing Ashley Force when she won her first event.
Forces reaction time was a joke. Hight was obviously in on it because his reaction time was lousy too, (he didn't want to risk red lighting and knew Force would be even slower). Its getting as bad as the wrestling on tv. Everyone knows whose going to win. |
I think NHRA should limit the number of funny cars or Top fuel cars you have in your team. Maybe that would cut down on all the B.S.
But that might kill NHRA and they might not get a 16 car field in those classes. I don't like what Force did but he did what he had to do. It's NHRA's fault it got to this. We just got back from racing at the U.S Nationals at Indy. I think the place sucks and hope I never go back. I use to run Super Chevy there for years and it was great. They treat the sportsman racers like crap. We waited 10 hours to get in and 3 1/2 to have them tech the car. Some people waited almost 24hrs to get in. Pro's get in as soon as they pull up. Who pays the majority of the bills and buy from the sponsors? Sportsman racers and they treat them like crap. |
I think the aftermath was "VINTAGE" John Force and the reason you love him , if your one of the people who love's Him.
If you listen to what John was up-set about...Its wasn't the fact he was accused of Cheating it was the Act of talking behind his back with several....looooong before this incident. John said it on National Tv: ...."Ford and Car Club pay me to have these cars in the Top finishers and thats what i do " as Far as actually Throwing hands. (Fist)..One was scared to throw a punch and the other was Glad he was... Trust me if a man wants another that Bad. he will get him...ain't No two fingers gonna hold him back.. Cracks me up everytime i see a grown man Jumping Up and down like he's chomping at the Bit while someone like his wife has her index finger on his chest like its holding him back....LMAO !!! I would have Just went for the perfect light..never fails.each time i do this i get a Red.. i imagine it would have worked for John too with the average light he holds... |
It's a sad day in the racing world when a racer has to worry about his 'performance' rather than PERFORMANCE. I'm focused on WINNING every time I strap on a racecar........
|
X2 on the redlight.
|
One thing about Force, he started with nothing! John and his brother built a large multi-million dollar race team and that isn't easy to do! So, John is a completely self-made man, no one gave it to him.
To keep the professional end of our sport running and competing, we need as many professional teams as possible. What would it be like with less-than 10 professional teams at a major event? Not too exciting! WD |
