No ...if it was a corvette motor he would be in the 9's already. You can run 10.50's in a dump truck if it has a corvette motor.

That cam is nowhere near big enough for a 496, especially one with 13.7 to 1 compression.
Is the 236/ 242 the dur @ .050? If so with that much compression I'd get it up in the 270- 280 range. |
Put a ''MOPAR'' engine in it. Trash the ''chebbie'' engine :!: :!:
''JUST MY TWO CENT'S WORTH'' |
Dump some 116 race fuel and bump the timing up to 36, you'll go in the 10's then.
|
Hold it to the floor full length of the track.

Just wondering..... On a serious note, I'd go 290 to 310 duration. Grow some hair........ Whats the lobe sep of your current cam? How did you select the cam you have? You running gas or alky? HEADS? What size intake runners? What size rockers you using? Are the intake and Exhaust the same size? What RPM you running out at the end of the track? Theres a lot of great guys on RJ with a wealth of info to share and in the long run will help you improve your performance and save a few bucks, Every once in a while we are all subject to have someone or everyone enjoy theirselves at your expense. Just consider it your friendly neighborhood of buddies who love to bust your chops every chance they get....... Mopar, you might be on to something this chebbie motor is running like a mopar..... I think I would junk it too................. |
BBC
Have you checked the throttle to see if it is opening completely? Can't check it by yourself so have a friend hold it to the floor and see if it is opening completely. (Engine off, of course)
|
11.1, is that with the engine running or you pushing it ? :P :P :P :D
|
