Like the ad says "CASH IN HAND ONLY" for that 10 sec. ride. Wonder how many are lining up for that one..

I have a 1984 monte carlo. this car is extremely fast! i was running 10.5's in the quarter mile! the engine in this car is a lt1 motor that has 12k on it. it has 11:1 pistons and a mild cam. the rear end was upgraded to better gears. it has a quadrajet 4brl carb on it

Who needs injection on a LT1 motor when you can slap a qjet on it and run 10.20's ?

The real Sad part of this is someone will probably believe him!! If that car ever ran in the fourteens I would be SHOCKED! The fact that someone comes on a site like this & posts such Garbage Pretty well tells the story. Nothing wrong with loving your car & maybe streching the truth alittle(we have all done it) But to flat out lie to people that do this everyday??? Somethings wrong at this boys local station--Just an honest opinion from someone thats been there & done that--

He must be distance challenged. I think he meant to put 1/8 mile not 1/4 mile.

My guess is he's NEVER been down a dragstrip. Seems like everyone who has a street car that hasn't been to the track has a 10 sec car.......they just don't realize how fast a 10 sec car really is.
Before I started racing, I had a 67 Vette, 427 4-speed, and I knew it HAD to be a 10 sec car........yea right!! High 12's, low 13's....maybe....but nowhere near 10's and it was a pretty fast car.

I think he's full of it about it being a 10 sec car, but it's not bad looking and not a real bad buy. Of course I would offer him less that $4,400, but he's not far off what it looks like it's worth. However, knowing he's lying about being a 10 sec car he's probably not telling the truth about only 12k miles on the motor. For sure it would give me second thoughts about buying it from him. JMO, but he could keep that little pesky SB anyway :P Racing starts at 632! :lol:

Maybe he went out on the highway and marked off a quarter mile, then went back and ran it and timed himself...driving down the quarter saying "One MISSISSIPPI two MISSISSIPPI three MISSISSIPPI"

Nobody was laughing at your car or the price just the 10 second drag strip times which you already clarified. A car like that is worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

just from what i see.it looks to be priced about right..

By the pics the interior looks good and the outside does too. It's really hard to say until I look at and drive it, but if it's as good as it looks you're right on. Just remember no matter what you have it listed for someone is gonna offer less especially in todays economy. Good luck selling, but I would keep it at least 10 more years if it were me :wink:

Welcome to the crowd. I looked at your ad & here where I live, your price is right in there. Those Monte's are not real easy to find; many are survivors with a lot of work needed. Anyways, it is this economy that is a concern to me more than anything. Scooter
