why dont vehicles get prices when posted for sale???
 

my father just sold a truck at the swap meet for 17000.00 and asked me to look on here for a potential car or truck? i am just amazed at some of the cars without prices that may just be what he WAS looking for , however i passed them up and didn't even ask the famous question >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>HOW MUCH<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< . just venting not a big deal i just question the reason behind 'not pricing' the car you 'want' to sell ? perhaps they dont know what they want/ dont know what its worth/want to display not really sell/looking for more than its worth and hope an idiot makes an offer for an unreal price/ or perhaps another reason ????????????? needless to say he purchased a car from craigslist instead that i found for him. guess what ???? it had a price and he got full asking price. i am not bitching i cant afford much ,let alone high dollar stuff, but its nice to look and see what different vehicles are going for? i realize the economy is tuff but if you want to sell, PUT A PRICE! i bet real buyers pass cars buy on here for that fact. i cant imagine a swap meet or car lot without prices? Same on parts,Im always looking to purchase parts on here but alot of people refuses to post prices with parts- If I have to email for parts I pass-You also can eliminate most of the tire kickers with the price-Just another opinion-

I totally agree. I usually do not waste my time on a item w/ no price because it is too high or they are flakey. It is annoying because the PRICE is the main critera for the phone call in the first place... obviously if the car is too high priced or the seller is out of thier mind, I will not waste the time call.

You all missed the biggest obstacle of all!!! If you list the price you will pay that for an honor payment.........or not!!!! They don't price it to say they sold a $100 part not a $4000 part. Just my opinion. You also see guys leave a zero off large ticket items.

You have a point, there are a lot of tight A$$'s out there who don't want to be fare with others and are always looking for a way to One Up a person or situation....

but for the small fee requested by RJ for selling an item on the site isn't enough to break the bank.

But FYI:::
Prior to marking your item sold, you should edit the the listed selling price to the actual selling price agreed upon between yourself and the buyer, then list the item sold and submit honor payment.

I never list an item sold until I have received the money, So many of these jokers on here say, hold that part for me, I will send you the cash tomorrow. The only problem is you not for sure what tomorrow the buyer is talking about. Yesterdays tomorrow, tomorrow's tomorrow Etc... :o :o :o

i dont blame ya for not pulling till sold had a couple guys tell me deal pending but like i posted before if sold then take it off or mark it as so other wise looks like your pissing on my neck and trying to convince me its raining s@#t if you changed mind just be honest im a man and have the balls to say hey dont want got a better deal ect

If you want to sell it you have to post a price. I inquired about a price on an ad and received a response of "make me an offer". I guess I will pass, no time for game playing.

If its not priced, its really not for sell.
I don't buy nothing off this site, too many scammers.
I buy parts from Summit or Jegs, have the parts in 2 or 3 days and they take returns no matter what.
I haven't got time to play internet games with a keyboard warrior!
As a matter of fact I have listed several things on here and only sold one thing and it was such a hassle getting the money, every excuse from sick to lighting strike that this site is barly a last resort before ebay where the real money is anyway.
And what is priced such as a car, you have to blink twice because its so rediclious you pass up the add anyway.

If it doesn't have a price i move on,The way i see it if it doesn't have a price they really don't want to sell it anyway :!: :!:

If it is a car or truck and it don't have a price i most of the time don't even read the ad.
As far as parts I cant post the price's of some of my parts because it is against the MFG rules to advertise cheaper than there MFG suggested price .
And there are some deals on parts like that i may loose some customers by not putting the price there but for the one's that do call they get a deal not all companies have MAP pricing but most do especially the larger one's.

I have sent message's on a few and ask the price and most of the time it is way over priced.

I do buying and wholesaling for a large car dealership and auto auction plus my parts business and let me give a little info on these trucks on RJ if they sale them for what they are asking or even close they should consider there self lucky because most of them are way over priced i do this every day and these vehicles are not worth nowhere near what they want.

But i guess if you don't ask then you will never get it so Good luck to all.

i also have asked a few sellers with 'no price' and found the same as you.[ out of my range] i am just baffeled at how you expect to sell something without a price?????? AND how can someone expect us to give a 'best offer' without any idea of what they want / then they get pissed if not high enough. in all truth, their vehicle is worth what they think is worth to them any way. SO IF WE PASS - THEY DONT SELL > and vehicle is still theirs and we are happier keeping our cash. by the way> my 1996 z21 ,165000 mile, truck is worth 10000.00 to me unless i find a buyer! LOL know anyone?? lol even harder !!!!!!!! this car stuff is '' THE THRILL OF THE CHASE''' anyway and if you are in it to make a buck $$$ get a venders lisence and go for it but you cant over pay and be profitable. look for fair PRICED VEHICLES and go for it . if it was easy everyone would do it . i do it for a hobby and get happy when i break evev or make a small buck and have enjoyed the ownership and joy rides. as always > just my opinion dont attack me and have a great holiday and even better days forward GOD BLESS

i traded my truck on here between buying and repairs i made while i owned i actually lost money but between talking to people on another site and price guides i priced it less then it was actually worth but i also took into acount for economy if it would be worth it to hold on to it and sell for more and my family needs needed a ext cab truck or family car traded on here for the truck but i considered all trades like ad said if guys would have trade atv like he offered i was goon trade it right back to a guy for what i needed but multiple deals fell trough but this one came through and as far as i know hes happy to im sure i insulted lots of people with offer but no price had to find out
