might not be the pump,,,some cars have an oil pressure switch that activates the pump circuit , not sure if your model does or not , but some do , check to see if you are getting fire to pump before going to alot of trouble....J M O , :D PAUL

drop the tank, the pump for that truck is cheap, I would just buy new. about $45.

A quick check (works about 90% of the time). As you crank the engine have someone hit the bottom of the tank with a rubber mallet. If it starts then it the pump for sure. If not, could be the relay. JMO

I just put one in my Dually in August of 2008(2000 chevrolet crew cab ) and it was like $175-200 bucks ....can't remember. I dropped the tank ..it had almost a half tank and I did it alone in a driveway...they never break down at home in the garage. :?

I hear that pulling the bed is easier. I know on a S-10 it is.

Buy a GM pump its worth the extra $$ Autozone or checker pump you'll be doing this again in year. Also change your gas filter and sock filter attached to the pump.

You better watch not having the bed on the truck, if the rear tires sling up a rock it might bust your back window. Seen that happen alot.

just an idea did you change the rubber hose leading from sender to pump they will get old and crack and it will pump gas back into tank instead of to engine always replace little hose
