gearhead37683 11-24-2007 08:00 PM

that really sucks, bristol is a nice track. that is the only 1/4 track close that i race on, the rest that are close to me are just 1/8 tracks. i dont see how they arent making any money with the bracket racers, they always have a packed house when i go, but anyway that sucks

bristol dragway

 I do agree stopping dragracing at bristol dragway really does suck, i spoke with them @ the dragway and they said money was a BIG issue, i have raced there for years, but now the little tracks will be full.

bristol dragway

:?: here is a idea instead of talking about bristol dragway stopping bracket racing, do what i done call them ask for brandon cross he is the man in charge, ask him why, heck ask any of them why? phone number is, 423-989-6933 might cost a quarter, and even if you don't race here or live here call anyway!!!!!!!

gearhead37683 11-29-2007 08:53 PM

what did they tell you about shutting down, i called and talked some lady on the phone and she couldnt give me a straight answer why the are stopping the bracket racing, she acted like she didnt know, but anyway maybe someone can tell me why, but my guess is they will probably keep running their streetfights, and shut out local guys who have spent alot of money on their cars to run at bristol,

proregal 11-30-2007 10:25 AM

email this guy and [email protected] and ask him why and let him know that is not right  he is the main dude that sent the letters out! dont matter if u race there or not the more the merryer!!! just email him

bracket racing

when i called and talked to brandon cross, he stated the bracket racing wasn't drawing in crowds there for not making the track money, that it cost more to have this type of racing than they were making, so there for it must go!!!!!

Y'know, that's the same sort of thing I've seen here in the northwest, no happy butts in the seats for the bracket racers. I'm sure that's the case for many other tracks as well and we may see this sort of thing recur.

We have suggested to the track managers different ways of re-building a fan base through promotion. Outside of the other racers, who else in your communities know who won, lost or broke trying last weekend?

We have discussed celebrity drags with local celebrities like sports stars, radio and TV broadcasters, community leaders. Match / grudge race sort of affair. Falls on deaf ears around here. Maybe grudge meets between tracks within a division. Plus, how about some way for the fans to get involved with their 'Local Hero's", the guy down the street with the 9 second Camaro or 12 second Mustang.

I think as racers it's in our own best interests to aide the tracks in pronotion, but if the tracks aren't going to take the lead or even listen and act upon suggestions, then what?

Anyway, that's my rant question, I guess. How do we affect change?

well the way i see it, if it wasn't for the bracket racers where would dragracing be today? sometimes people forgets where they started from, sometimes people needs to step back and look at the big picture!!!

i agree to a point---REAL DRAG RACING WAS JUST THAT---REAL TO THE END[ SOMETIMES YOU GOT SPOTTED A COUPLE OF CARS / SOMETIMES YOU SPOTTED THEM A COUPLE 8) 8) ---IT CAN BE HARD AT TIMES TO FILL THE BLEACHERS BUT THE PIT AREA STILL PAYS IN ALOT OF MONEY AT MOST TRACKS    --LIVELY

How the hell to they think they can make it with no bracket car races???? what are they going to run BIG SHOWS EVERY WEEK???????????? I dont get it ! I like the idea of promoting the track for spectators AND RACERS too. My 2cents, David.

mopar1968 12-03-2007 04:11 AM

bracket race's

proregal 12-28-2007 06:35 PM
