Tod74 at least use a good analogy. how bout the waitress gives you the wrong food, terrible service, and then badmouths you, comes back and says sorry, I was wrong, please take this food for free on me because of what I've done. much more accurate.

when mark called he was very clear he wanted me to keep his carb for the hassle, did not want anything in return, I offered, told him that was not necessary, he insisted, said he was sorry for all the bad words and hassle, then gets on here and acts like I ripped him off. thanks for all of you keyboard racers. good luck to mark, he needs it

Keep telling yourself whatever makes you feel better. He screwed up on the original trade and although he did make a post about you here, your inconvenience doesn't warrant a free carburator. My analogy was correct. Your actions here confirm what he was warning us about...You are not the type of person most want to do business with.
Have a wonderful summer.

My dad always told me that you never really know a man until you do business with him.Sad but true.

You should sell the carb., Keep what you think is fair for your troubles and send him what is left over. I think the guy deserves something for his headache and it was insisted that he take it.

Well to start with mop made the offer for him to keep it. I think a fair resolution to both parties would be to SELL the carb and split the money. Obviuosly mop sees something wrong in his dealings (intentional or not) and made an offer to rectify the situation. if you think that is not a fair offer then you should tell mop "that was a stupid thing to do". Maybe jrlj values his time more than you do and feels like this is fair. you fellas act as if jrlj is stealing his carb when that is in no way the case. I assume mop is a grown man that can make decisions on his own whether good or bad he still made it. in short, live with the decision you made.. good or bad.

I hope I didnt ruffle too many feathers. its just my .02.

I would say you ruffled a few. believe me they will let you know quick !!! What i don't understand you have been on here for 3-4 years now posted two post both on my thread?

Indeed Mopar you raise an interesting point re 67SS.

But I wanted to comment on what I think everyone is trying to get at. You make a mistake, a bad deal whatever. Both sides are unhappy, but there is one side who feels it important to make the first move.

So Mopar, you offer for JR to keep the carb for his trouble. Then what I would expect and we usually see is that the other person would appreciate your offer, see it for the fact that it is intended to make things right then turn it down. The offer is what has value, not the damn carb.

JR should have realized that there was a communication mistake, been appreciative of your offer and then met that generosity by returning the carb. deal done, friends made and everyone happy.

When he kept the carb and said he did it because you told him that was the deal? It became all about the money.

But then these days it is all about the money right? Not about doing whats right, making friends and building relationships, even meeting trading partners.

Mopar, what that carb deal/final offer bought you is the admiration and respect of many on this board.

JR, returning it would buy you the same.

My opinion as always,

Later

Would it change the anything at all if I had 10000 post on here before this one? no. This is an open forum for all members so I figured I would put my .02 in. I would have done the same thing you did mop after things went the way they did. I would have offered to compensate him for his troubles but I would not have let things continue the way they have in this thread. If you honestly did not want to offer compensation then the words "keep my carb" should have never been spoken. Fellas I drag race too and I try to help people out when I can but there comes a time when you make mistakes and someone else is affected in a negative way. If you feel the need to make things right with honest intentions of doing just that, then you should actually expect the other person to take what you are offering as just that.. compensation.

Mop I am sorry things got messed up in your deal but I wouldnt let these guys bash on jrlj for accepting an offer you made. Chalk it up to experience and be sure the next person you deal with has pictures of what you are sending them.

If you can read this thread was started long before i said ''keep the carb'' no it wouldn't have made a difference how many post you had, the point is i can't control what people say on here, nor will i try to control it. They are all grown up and can do and say what they want!!! oh by the way do you have a profile so we know with whom we are talking to?
