mouse,
why don't you show us that you actually put money into the escrow account.
As for not knowing how to add your msn mail to the forum: copy and paste.

gideon13 was notified by escrow.com that the money was posted. He's never alleged I didn't post it. He just didn't like my attitude. Go to Escrow.com. Transaction #499223.

I think this is more a case of bad comunication than someone trying to scam someone. I think the seller felt uncomfortable with the escrow deal and felt a little presured on the deal. The buyer maybe could have given a little more detail about using the escrow service. Many of us on here have never used one and are not comfortale with something new. The seller should have been a little more clear about the shipping time considering his medical problems and should have just flat said I am not comfortable using the escrow service. As far as the vin plate many people use them to put old drag cars back on the street and if you buy one of the new Dynacorn bodies and do not already have a donor car then buying a vin plate is better than buying a compleate junker just for the vin. I don,t think either of you are bad guys .It was just a deal that didnt pan out.

mouse , in your own words you said that from the start that Chris did not want to use the service , he wanted money in hand , (thats his right) why didn't you just move on if you had this bad vibe ? I'm not taking sides , but if one party doesn't want to do this type transaction then its not gonna work out...most people that sell used parts deal in cash...just the way it is.....but I don't think he or you either one is a scam artist so it really shouldn't even be on the scammers forum anyway....sorry your deal fell through , but it happens. the man said he would send you the money ...but he is not a scammer. and I don't think you are a bad person for wanting to use the service , its just not for everybody , thats all,,,,Paul

OK, this is the last post I intend to do on this. I've just been answering all your questions the best I can. My bad for thinking that since he agreed to use the escrow service, he intended to hold up his end. I didn't pressure him into anything. I proposed the escrow service and he agreed to it. Then he didn't send the hood three weeks after I posted the funds. I'll never deal with him again. As I said, i was raised that you keep your word. He didn't. I'm done.

well, all your points are valid, and i try to accommodate anyone, but RJ does not guarantee you security on your money the same way paypal doesn't either. from now on i guess i will have to stick to my guns and not agree to any terms of payment that i do not have listed. and i do have them listed in every ad. i have been on this site a very long time. i felt that if i started doing it right and paying for my accounts and doing the honor payments then i shouldn't have any problems. they put that there for a reason to keep us honest. and to reward us with that honesty. you as a first time buyer were being very cautious, but at the same time you being a first time buyer wanting to do things different than they were normally done will AND did scare off a long time seller. the only way to establish yourself as a buyer and seller is to not start off by wanting to change things that have been done a certain way for awhile. as for my medical issues that i have going on right now, you asked me to put myself and my family in jeopardy by demanding i do something on your time schedule. i have to watch what i do because like every other POS insurance company they are waiting for you to commit that one screw up so they can deny you and accuse you of work comp fraud. that being another story that also played a big part in not getting it to the shipper. i cannot just ask anyone to jump through hoops and do something when everyone i know works the same hours the shipping company is open. so it boils down to you not being comfortable sending money up front and i not being comfortable shipping an item without money up front. so we chalk it up to a deal thats not going to make anyone happy.

I have been following this thread from the beginning. I think both of you are good guys, however........................................... .............................

mouse, you tried to change the way things are normally done, it sent a red flag straight up the flag pole. The way the economy is nowadays and the fact that ALOT of folks are hurting for money makes legit buyers/sellers even more cautious. I do not think what you did was wrong, just too different from the norm. I know first hand that this economy will make a normally honest man do things he never thought he would do to make money (no,not me!!). I also do not think you should be out your money for the escrow.

Chris, you should not have advertised the hood if you were unable to ship it. You should have advertised it as having to be picked up at your place.
I am of the opinion that if someone advertises their item, it should be readily available to ship or be picked up, that means crated and ready to roll out the door. I do not think you are a bad guy, I just really believe if you advertise it, be ready to ship it. I know you said you are physically unable to ship it due to medical reasons, that alone should have made you not advertise it. I know when I sell something it ships next day. Period. I expect the same from a seller.
Chris, I think you should send the man the $25 he had to eat because you didn't ship the hood. Not $12.50, because he would have never used the escrow had you not agreed and then backed out. I know you have been around here quite some time, the fact still remains that an item being advertised should be READILY available for pick up or shipping. You made a mistake in my opinion, but in no way does that make you a scammer.
Hope I didn't ruffle y'alls feathers, just stating my thoughts.

just about the time that this occurred my brother who handles all the big stuff for me went to work out of town. i did advise him that i cannot ship it and the timing is not right and thats when everything went south. bad thing is im also not cool with him admitting he found the escrow.com for the first time and did not research it carefully enough and wanted me to jump on the bandwagon with him on a company he knew nothing about. AND if this was a company he knew something about he would have known about the fee not going to be refunded. im not cool with that at all. thats B>S> for a company to hold money on a transaction and it cancels and they keep part of it. for doing nothing except holding the money. he wants the 25.00 he will have to send me his address i have deleted all this after i posted it here
