I went 4 rds as did 2 more of our group.Had a real good nite saw some people that I don't see often Car did not pop so that was a plus. visted with Carlton Franks who started racing in 1955 and ran a lot withj a blown sbc Willy's. I lost in 4th by .001 Later J.Smith 4621 racing

Well, from what I hear, Mr Charles Perkins of Bartlett,Tn. gets braggin' rights. I heard he was lookin' for all the RJ guys during fifth round, and they'd already trailered up and left. I also heard, that a certain Ford, was beat on a holeshot, in the third round, by one of the "Byhalia Bears", who incidently, cut a perfect light.

I just got home about 30 mins ago. Long trip, but it was well worth it. It was pretty cool meeting the MS gang. Just what you would expect, good people and a lot of fun. Mr Jimmy thanks for having us all at your shop and Maniac thanks for cooking supper for me!
For those of you that missed it you missed meeting and having a good time with some good folks from MS. and Charlie from TN. Hope we can do it again next season.

Rabbit didn't mention him, but I also heard, that there was a real nice guy, at Byhalia last night, from Augusta, Ga. I sure wish, I could'a been there, I had a major clown act, to perform at KCIR yesterday, which precluded me performing a major clown act in Byhalia, Ms. last night. LOL

I think a good time was had by all. .Got to meet a few new people and some great fellowship..we took over Jimmy Smith"s speed shop and the Cracker Barrell for lunch and ate a few burgers at the track . we didn't all do well at the track and some did real well..congrats to the money winners..my car did its job and ran on the number , just needs a new driver ,LOL.. Glad you made the drive Rabbit , hope to do it again in the spring , Thanks Charlie , had a good time....Paul & Judy

Thanks to everyone who made the trip, it was a great time no doubt.
Thanks for setting this up Paul, I'm ready to do it again already. I went 5 rounds, we cut up the money 8 ways, everyone walked away with $175, win or lose. Yeah I got my butt handed to me in the fast four, I knew I was beat before I ever left the house, that thunderbird was exactly what I thought it was gonna be, a very fast, very clean machine, he laid down a stout 5.43 or 2 pass (can't remember) to beat my loosing 5.65. Here's a weird stat, our mph was exactly the same. 111.08mph If I missed meating anybody & saying hello, I'm sorrry, I sure meant too, it was a night I'll never forget, thanks to all. Cp |

I took some pcs too but was kinda tired when I got home so I was gonna post 'em today the when I saw mytmouz pictures I swear he stole the card out of my camera and posted my pics. No kidding almost the exact same ones I took. I do wish I had taken more of all the people there instead of all the cars.

Guys sure was a fun trip! Broke a valve on 3rd tt. But still had a blast. Must have been a claw the went through the intake cause it turned #2 intake sideways in the seat!

Folks i just got back home from a 2 weeks stay in Ms., working on my house up there and built a 481 BB/C, i don't know how well it will run, the whole short blk. was junk, helicoils in the blk, the bore was already too big for his pistons, etc. i just hope it stays together.
On the meeting at Byhalia, it was great to see everyone again, and to put a face on a RABBIT, all great people, we'll have to do it again in the spring, maybe in May. I wasn't feeling too good that nite and i was freezing (didn't bring enough clothes to stay warm), so i didn't do as much socializing as i should have, for that i appolagize and i want make the same mistake again. I did make a movie of Tracy Smith's 5.92 run, the run before he broke a valve. It's the red Camero in the far lane, wheels up about 3 ft. Zip. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...oct16th003.jpg |
