I dont have a et for you yet will soon, I hope. I am 41 and this lil blazer is my dream. I have always like trucks, have owned a lot of lowered street pounders. I have always wanted a backhalfed car or truck, and it is almost complete. 83 chevy s10 2wd blazer. 24" ladderbar backhalf clip S&W, art morrison 10pt cage, weld draglites (my fav) 15x3 front and 15x12 rear, hoosier quicktime pros 29x14.5 , 355 mild sb went 13.80 in full size long bed 1/2 ton truck, 350 turbo 3600 vert, mopar 8 3/4 , 4:30 gears, spool, with dutchman axels. I have a dream and a goal of someday going in the 10's, right now will be in the 12's and that is ok, I am a poor boy bracket racer, and I just want to race. I have a awsome wife and together we have got this bracket thing almost done. I live 120 miles from the closest track, but have a 07 duramax crew cab to get us there, and a 24 ft tag to put it in. I might be slow, but I will be happy, as long as I am racing!!!! 8)

Mark,

You have worked your ass off to get where you are and I commend you for your accomplishments.

I know you will have so much fun in that lil ole blazer, The first time home you will have a grin on your face that will take a week to wear off.

I cannot wait to see how she does....I still think I need to plan a late fall road trip up your way.

slowman 05-27-2007 02:11 PM

you are most defiante hooking that thing up,,seems like your MPH should be in the 110 /111 mph range and 6.0's to high 5.90's with that 60 ft

what gear are you running and what is the motor turning thru the lights...i did see where you stated it was wrong converter...( loose i assume)..

Hey great numbers !!!..if i had a problem i would want it on the BIG end..much easier to diagnosis..... :D :D :D

Plus..i wish my 67 camaro had that 60ft you had....i would be running 5.50's....

You're welcome, my coupe's undergoing a remodel right now too. For the uptenth time in the last 28 years. One thing about her, looks large but alot of empty space, lot's lighter than people think. I'll upload new pic's soon and get 'er weighed when done (In street trim). Then off to the local digg's so I can post me some #'s!

Sounds good, look forward to seeing them. Know what you mean about the upteenth time, mine too! I'm shooting for about 2800 lb. with driver, so I have allot of cutting to do, these cars were heavy from the factory. Right now it's about 600 lighter than when I first bought it but still has the full interior and all steel but the hood. :)

Brain, I'm actually in Dallas, Texas, the photo is at the Memphis divisional so it may be a bit far for you to. If your in the area though drop in sometime? I think the redo is kind of at a stand still until Sept. or Oct. Hope to have it back together by this next season. That is if I ever get good rear housing! :o

511 BBC powerglide (1.8 low) 33.6 x16x 16 tires 4.30 rear end 1950 lbs
heads manifold exhaust and carb all too big for this engine (going 540 next year maybe) when they will be more suitable.

1.13 60 foot
303. 330 feet
3.14 @ 135 1/8th mile
6.7 100feet
8.11 @ 163 1/4 on a steet car track

there's a seven in there somewhere. not run enough this year to get it right..

ken0069 09-10-2007 02:40 PM

76 Camaro 4link full chassis car. 434 SBC, Glide, 4:86, carbureted on alky went 5.61 @ 126 during shake down runs a little over a month ago at 3700+ ft density altitude.

Still working on carb trying to get enough fuel thru it. There's probably some low 5.50s or high 5.40s in it in good air. Engine has 16 passes on it now and I'm still tweaking on the tuneup. To be continued!

This is my old car which I built back in 1995 but have now sold. It was a very fast car 12yrs ago & is still a fast car now. The record was 10.36 by a blown car when I entered the field & proceeded to destroy the existing record. I had other drivers protesting me & had regular cylinder volume tests performed to make sure I wasnt cheating.

CAR:
1970 Holden Torana GTR (coupe) rear-halved (tubbed)
All steel & street-legal weighing 2742lb

ENGINE:

NOS Pro Shot Fogger & twin plates, running 350hp gain

TRANS:

Nodular head
Pinion support

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: All in the first season.
NZ's Fastest street-legal door car for 8yrs
BB/SM record holder for 8yrs, 9.191 @ 144.69mph 1/4 mile

Personal best: 9.06 @ 148mph

Leaving the line at 6100rpm shifting at 8800rpm.
All the nitrous was dumped into the engine when the transbrake was released.
Used to snap the centre main cap frequently & fracture cranks but it never laid down any oil & used the same block for the entire season.

ok i cant get my ducks in line. i have a 68 all steel backhalf camaro. 5:13 gears 31x18.5 pro ets. bbc 496 pump gas motor 350 turbo with not enough stall. the car hooked good once raped the ring and pinion which was a 3:89. i know a tad high for the 1/8. with the 5:13 it wouldnt hook too much air in the tires i learned. my best et was 7.5 at 94. something 60 ft was 1.5. i feel like the car should go a little faster. really a car like it running a 6.68 with a baby block. my motor is making 600 hp. you guys know more than me what should i expect to run bug free?

If there is one thing I've learned over the years, it's about getting the right combination of components that work together. We really need more info. about your engine and components to give you a realistic estimate of performance.

I would guess it is a real light car to run that with that HP.
