I tried to get good pics of the bad spots but it is very hard to do because of the reflection. These pics make the wheel look like a wash board but that isn't the case...they are not near perfect like a brand new wheel should be but not as terrible as the pics make them to be. the ones with arrows show the dents in the wheel and you can kind of see the tool marks but the massive distortion under the arrows is just reflection

this part of the wheel is very wavy to the touch and has tool marks that you can feel with your finger just like you would see from a lathe.

again...the area the arrows point to is wavey and looks like it has small dents but the area to the left is nice...just looks bad cause of reflection.

This is the dents I said looked like it was hit with a hammer. The funny thing is the bad places are pretty much in the same place on both wheels...near the valve stem. I know that wide wheels like this are always wavy to the touch on the inside part that the tire covers but they are normally polished smooth on the "good" side. While I'm bashing them I want to say that the wheels are beautiful in general(FROM 8 feet away ) they just look like they have been beat up in a few spots..and you can feel and see ripples across the smooth part..tried to get a pic of the ripples but the glare wouldn't let me.

here is a pic with the bad part to the top where you can't see it...they look good.

http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/f...d74/fronts.jpg

I am very happy with the fronts. These are not the same ones I pictured earlier...these are the second set..they are one piece and they are perfect...Too bad they are so hard to deal with cause these are pretty nice especially for 200 bucks each...I'm sure eventually they will have the wide ones perfect too...He said I got one of the first sets they made...true or not I don't know. I do know it is the last set of anything I'll ever buy from them.

itsabird 08-08-2008 03:00 PM

tod74 i liked those wheel,s the first time i saw them, and though about buying a set, but after watching what you had to put up with, there ain,t no way.

Tod74 08-08-2008 03:25 PM

I have decided that when the guy calls me(if he does) and he tells me to send them back ..I am going to tell him no thanks.I will just use them to advertise for you...show everyone the quality of work you guys put out. I have already shown them to friends and they all spotted the flaws right away...They will eventually get the bugs worked out I'm sure and they will be a nice wheel for the money...but they shouldn't be allowed sell any more til they do.

This is from their website "Question and Answer section"
LMAO !!

Q: If the wheels I want are not in stock, how long does it to take to build them?
A: Two to three weeks. Slightly longer for chrome.

Centerline keeps these practices up for long and they'll be a NFL in business.(Not Freaking Long) I think you oughtta go after them, hammer and tong, till you get satisified. After what they've put you through. FWIW

Aside from the blems in them , I love how they look with the slicks mounted.... Don't got em on the car yet waiting on my old man to machine me some aluminum spacers for the 5/8 studs/nuts.Will Have them Monday evening. Just now getting them mounted cause the fuel pump in my truck had konked out and I couldn't haul 32 x 14 tires in my car...

it's a good thing I have 5/8 studs and was not planning on running a regular shank lug nut with the chrome washer..cause the chrome washers that go behind them will not fit in the wheel ...lol and we tried a bunch of different ones too. They fit the 15 x 4 wheels but not the 14's.

This link does not work. Hope your wheel 'adventure' turns out satisfactory in that the wheels will even arrive back at you but also that they are acceptable to run !

I caught this in your sig on on bullet.

About five years ago I tried to gedt them to make me some wheels like they did in the old days(been buying CL since early 80s). I was told point blank "we are not int he racing wheel market any more go else where" Then I tried to explain there was agood market for the 4th gen f-body's and was told "You have NO idea what the market is if you did you could make your own wheels"

I sold off every F-ing CL wheel I had and will never go back. They can suck me alll night and I won't buy there POS wheels again!

I wouldn't buy anything from those jerkoffs.

dparker 12-02-2008 06:39 AM

Your probably right,, but my options to find something different are limited.. Unless i wanna spend 500 a wheel.. Your nova looks wicked though..

They are strange axles...they are pretty old but haven't been run much. I've had the car for 13 years.

9 month late response....in the tradition of the timely service offered by CENTERLINE

lively 08-08-2009 12:49 PM

MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!---DID YOU GET NEW WHEELS FOR THE NOVA????LOL LOL LOL

ashbros 08-08-2009 03:28 PM

WOW tod,

I just took the time to read the complete thread.

I had no idea, REALLY!!!!!

I had seen you mention you had some problems with receiving your wheels, but.......... 9 months, No that is unacceptable.........

My balls would have been soo frosted hard telling what I might have done or who may have sufferd the pain of pulling those wheels out of their A$$ after I had waited so long to get them..

I have to say, from the pics they sure look nice......

Tod74 08-08-2009 04:23 PM

NO NO it didn't take 9 months to get the wheels......it was like 3 months but they told me two weeks when I paid them. I was just being a jackass when I said 9 MONTH LATE response. DPARKER asked about the axles in December and I never saw it.Then when I found the thread to link it to BBCHEVY I noticed the question and answered it 9 months after he asked it. I ordered the wheels in April and got them finally in August and they looked like crap...but I was told so many different stories and talked to rudely so many times ...That's why I said I knew how Gregg(bbchevy) fealt.

ashbros 08-08-2009 06:38 PM

Well, they still took too long to get them to you and for them to send blems, shame on themmmm.....

You should take a few minutes out and write a letter to the president of centerline narrating your storey. You never know, it may help resolvve your issues with the blemmed wheels...
