I see I have failed to properly communicate.

Nothing funny with what you said, you gave him good advice,

I can't beleive he is wanting to try to tackle the task at hand. He could very easily damage his block.

I agree , thats why I told him to let someone check it before he ruined it and cost him more than it needs to.. :D :D

i have takin it to a machinist its gettin bored don't know how much yet and appriciate all the help once again im new to all this and was goin by the haynes manual wich said to use a ridge reamer, this isn't a racing truck this is my daily driver so i had no truck and was tryin to save money as much as possible

150 - 200 bore & hone

Have the block hot tanked and magnafluxed before he does any machine work add another 75 - 125 for this work

Might as well have him check the line hone on the mains. If it needs it, do it. It'll free up a bunch of power and make the motor live a lot longer.

Racing motor or not, if you build them right, they last a lot longer.

you guys have helped out tremedously and saved me from screwin up my block terribly (i was pretty sure i didn't want to do that so i came here) i dont know what he has done to it yet i'll have to call him on monday and relay that information
