I was thinking about putting all Dick Miller suspension parts on the car. He said the car will hook extremely hard and at 3300-3500 pounds that is what scares me.He said that they have people running in the 7's on the same tire.I'm not looking to go that fast but I still want to be safe and I don't want the rear to be the weak link.I bought the rear from a friend for a descent price and that is the only reason that I got it.I just wanted to know if I should use it or put something like the strange s60 in it.I have to pay to change the gear anyway so maybe I should just put that money towards a new rearend. Is $1600 to much to ask for this one? Thanks

IMO you need a different rear end, that motor is going to make some power and the last thing you want to do is snap a axel or break a rearend and mess up the quarters on that car.

12 bolt rear

You already have 33 spline axles aftermarket because 12 bolts never came with 33 stock. SO they must be aftermarket. you have c-clip elim kit - again if you do (which I doubt you will) break an axle your safe again.
You have a spool again you can not get any better for what you are doing.
As I stated make sure your axle tube are weld to the cast center section...(stitch weld this if you doing it in the car or you will warp the axle tubes)

Main bearing caps would be the only upgrade if they are not already done.

GO racing and enjoy .

They only thing I worry about is that however set the rear end up did it correct and the back lash is in the .004-.007 range. A dial indicator with a magnetic base will tell you that measurement.

do not go over kill ...you have a good base rear use it. Jim

Correct is it like a sticker looking ME tag or like a casting into the axle ?

casting (raised)

Reason I asked is the raised casting means its a older axle they switched back in the 90's on how they labeled the ends, but for sure a Moser Axle.

Is it still a good quality?

Should be fine, I've ran them several times (have a set in my dragster now)
