I'm running 2 NAPA orbital batteries in my car with alt after 5 yrs still going strong. Had a Turbo Start 16v before that what a piece of junk.JMO

You can get away from the constant source to the alternator by installing a relay that is activated by the master cutoff switch. That way there is no power with the switch off.

You have a part# for a relay that will take a #4 wire????

If I got anything from reading this thread it is 2 batteries are better than 1

I run 2 batteries optima batteries myself
works great for me
never had a problem

lots of good batteries out there now,,I do like the optima red and you need to get a real alternator if your going to run on the street, I`ve been screwing with batteries and alternators on my street car for years, and the best I`ve come up with is the red optima (because its lite)and a good 100 amp alternater, you have to find a way to run an alternator, sooner or later you will have a problem, and you wont be likeing it. just my oppinion ...I run a single red, and lots of fans and pumps, and it starts my bbc like nothing!

The best battery by far that iv ever owned is the Kinetik just one bad battery.
I now sell them i still sell optima also but these are catching on now .
