Happened to me in a friends car last year, @ about 120mph it came back on was a scary ride but stayed up right and off the guard rail. His button mount put his button close to side of his wheel and it moved a little, just enough to reactivate it.

The brake will only enguage in first or reverse, so if you are in hi gear nothing will happen. If you hit the button in first the tranny will lock up.
