Easy
I'd resto the stang and get another toy! Ford made quite a few good HP engines in those years. Stroke n go! Three problems come to mind,
Spring Towers,Uni body (sub frame time), Weight Ratios, Wheelies are cool, just not backwards! I have a friend that did that, went the whole distance, framed, straight axled, 427 Ford,30 over, twin 4s, 4spd., narrowed 9 posi.,ladder bars, full 3 in. straight off the headers. One nice ride, kinda. Worked almost every night for 2 yrs. on it. He proudly announced he would be ready in one week,I told him I'd run him.Realizing later the Budweiser had overloaded my backside,I put a 428 Poncho,Turbo 400 in a Studebaker Lark, and met him that weekend. The only special parts were the McCreary Cheaters on the back.I had even left the bench seats in it! Smoked him 3 for 3. He just couldn't get it to hook up! Smoke means nothing if that is all it'll do! 1/2 the season later he had built up a 302 and dropped it in it. |
