That's kinda what I thought ,too ED.It was the having an up-and-down angle with a side-to-side angle (compound angle?)at the same time that made me wonder if it would bind. Thanks Eric

I wouldn't worry about the angle. Start worrying when you get them too straight. The straight u joint can vibrate and not only waste U joints but Tail shaft bushings and pinion bushings.

Did not know that,Bubster. Thanks for the info.

Looked at the Strange 12 bolt center section on their website. It says that the 12 bolt pinion is more center of the ring gear compared to a 9",couldn't find where it said if it would cure my offset or not.Anybody got any experience with the 12 bolt piece or got a buddy that does?

The pinion is always offset to the right side of the ring gear. Far as I know any rear end has one side shorter than the other unless it's been cut with equal axle lengths. Then you have the situation your dealing with now. Doesn't sound to me like enough angle to worry with, the only other issue that would cause vibration besides having the shaft to straight would be if the shaft yokes were installed out of phase. This will make one shake like a belly dancer!

A 12 bolt will move it more center than a 9" and it takes less power to turn than a 9". My suggestion is to call Strange, if you have to buy a center section anyway it might be a good solution. They should be able to tell you the measurements to see if it will help enough.
