So I contact streetrodder37 out of Pennsylvania and in his ad it states "numbers matching" so in our initial conversation I ask the question if it is in fact "numbers matching" and his response is: "I purchased it out of an estate sale we checked engine trans and rear #s they are matching to the car" so we go back and forth negotiating and come to an agreement on price and I tell him "I will be checking numbers so please don't waste either of our time" and now his response is: "thats what i was told and have no reason to dought the one i got it from". So buyer beware he is a liar.

Sorry the ad in question is actually posted under his alias of "kodiakid"

So, do you know it is NOT numbers matching? Did you ask him to personally verify the numbers and send you pictures? If he won't, then you can say he is possibly a scammer. Did you tell him you are posting on this forum, so he can defend himself, if he wants to?

I didn't call him a scammer, I called him a liar. He told me they checked the engine, trans and rear #'s and they were matching to the car. Then it became "he was told" that it was numbers matching. Is that not a lie??

Sorry. I did not say you said he was a scammer. I said you could call him a scammer if he did not follow thru with a request to verify the numbers. Either way, you have a case to be upset with the guy.

No scam only a seller you can't trust. Allways verify numbers yourself, thats the only sure way.

I wouldn't trust a thing he said. He flips cars so fast he can't know anything about them. Every motor is "fresh", every tranny is "fresh" yeah right!

Had the same type of situation with him last april. after several conversation concerning the car it came down to according to him only the horns and wipers did not work. Far from the truth. Several expensive replacement parts and labor were done by me to bring it to the point of only wipers and horns not working. Needless to say he was not totally honest with me. Determined he buys then flips. Nothing wrong with that if a seller is up front and honest. Buyers Beware !

Streetrodder37 and Kodiakid are the same, BEWARE OF BOTH!

do you guys ever inspect a vehicle before purchase? If you can't go then pay someone to do it before you hand over the cash. If he lied to you shame on him, but its up to the buyer to know what he is buying. There are way to many lowlifes out there to trust buying without checking it out 1st.Not calling him a lowlife, do not know him or you,its sad but thats how life is today.

I told him I'd be inspecting the vehicle and that's when it went from "I purchased it out of an estate sale we checked engine trans and rear #s they are matching to the car" to "I was told it was numbers matching". I wouldn't believe a thing he says or trust him. Buyers or traders beware!!

I'm kinda bummed I found this thread. I'm currently in negotiations with Kodiakid to purchase his 1960 Ford Falcon Pro Street car. I just can't get off from work to fly from Albuquerque to Pittsburgh, then rent a car and drive 3 hours to Hungtindon, Pa to verify what he has told me about the car so I was going to bank wire him the cash and hope he was being honest. Shame too, I really wanted that car.
Thanks Uncle Ted!

You don't need to go that far to find a good car for you. I have done it 3 times and should have stayed home twice. I limit my travels to one day round trip for cars or engines now. And about every one of my buddies has done what you were getting ready to do and none of them got what they thought they were. All the pictures in the world won't tell you enough. You have to see it, take more pictures, check every major component, walk away and think about it for a few days. Maybe leave a $500 deposit to hold for 2 weeks. You will be surprised how much a couple days will help before buying. Might even get a price drop. Never buy it the first time you see it. And don't just buy the paint job.

Geez, glad I stumbled on to this thread. I too am in negotiations with Kodiakid to purchase his 1960 Pro Street Falcon. (The wife loves that car!) He seemed to be upfront with me but after reading this thread, I'm hesitant to send him so much cash without personally seeing and driving the car.
Hey Pappap, can you private message me please?

Looks like he has a third alias on RacingJunk. If you look on YouTube under Kenneth Eichelberger you'll see videos that are attached to ads on RJ for cars for sale from streetrodder37, Kodiakid AND Fastasu!

So it seems I'm not the only one to come across his dishonest tactics!

Ted, did you end up buying the Road Runner from him? I see WBuckles bought a car from him, but his profile doesn't reflect any "Honor" payments. (I guess the key word is honor)
OBTW, his Ebay Alias is: slynnguyer

UncleTed

I did not buy the car from him. When an individual initially tells you "we checked engine, transmission and rear numbers and they all match" then when told that I will be checking numbers and that he really better not be wasting each other's time, that's when it changed and became "I was told it was all numbers matching". That's when I bolted from the deal, I can't deal with someone who is going to blatantly lie to try and make a deal. I suggest everyone use caution when dealing with him.

I looked into purchasing his Falcon too, but the description in the ad and his explanations did not match the pictures and video in the same ad! For instance,
1. the ad states "all new chrome, glass, and rubbers throughout" but, the video shows the vent rubbers shriveled and sun beaten.
2. The tach (in the video)clearly shows the car idling between 1400 and 1600 RPM (with a slight surge)even after snapping the throttle multiple times and when asked about it he said "maybe it was cold" but later states the carbs have the chokes milled off.
3. The ad states "Lazer Straight Body" but when questioned about any imperfections, he admits it has "a little" bubbling at the bottom of the back glass"
4. Said all the panels/hood/trunk and doors align up perfectly yet the video shows the drivers door (fully closed)and the bottom edge at the rear sticking out from the quarter panel.
I'm not saying he's a lair or anything like that because some people tend to truly believe their car is "all that." I'm just saying I wouldn't buy a car from the Gent unless I personally inspected it first.

If you read his ads every one says "all new glass, felts and rubbers" even though they don't. And yes even though every one of his ads say "paint buffed to mirror finish" some of his cars do have "bubbling" in the paint. All they do is detail them and flip them. I wouldn't trust anything said in his ads or anything he says. Buyers or traders beware!!!

Buyers and traders take notice.

Be very careful buying from this seller. If you do buy, it's highly advised to go see the car before sending him any monies!

Buy or trade with streetrodder37 and kodiakid at your own risk. Make sure you do your homework and inspect carefully and compare his elaborate descriptions to make sure you're getting what he claims. Most times you aren't! You've been warned! Ted

Kodiakid is the other profile they go by. Be very careful with both!

i believe the only reason to have multiple user names is because he got a bad rep on a past deal.
Just my thinking, that would put up the red flag for me right there.

Just an FYI bump...

Streetrodder37,, Kodiakid and Ikesrodshop are all the same shady dealer. Proceed with caution if you're thinking of dealing with this guy. You've been warned.

So I see streetrodder37 is no longer listing cars on that profile. Hmmmm you think there is a reason for that??? You be the judge. Still using the kodiakid profile to list cars but his new profile to list his cars is ”hotrodtoys”. You’ve been warned...
