Alright, I've got a 468 bbc with a 1050 cfm quick fuel technology drag race carb with 90/94 jets on it. I don't understand why I'm only running 8.145 in the 1/8 with a 85mph trap. I'm new to the drag racing world but I feel these number should be WAYYYY better.

Transbrake on a Powerglide and launch at 3200 RPM.

Rips through low gear like I'd expect, air shifter shifts perfectly at 6k RPM and then it acts like a turd in high gear.

you did not say the cars weight, rear gears ratio,no info on engine so going to be a very hard question to answer. a note to you about your jets, you have 4-barrels in the carb to feed 8 cylinders, your primary jets are smaller than your secondary, I always corner square the jets (all jets same size) good luck with your ride.

The jet comment is correct unless there is a powervalve.

yes, a power valve adds about an 8to10 jet size when it opens, a lot of guys like them, i do not, if i was to use them i would want a power valve in the primary and secondarys.

Unhook the trailer from it! Just kidding... What kind of vehicle is it. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge visible when it seems to quit pulling? Have you checked for a dirty fuel filter or kinked lines?

Also check the timing. Is the distributor advanced locked out? I have had a fuel filter cause very eratic ETs. The filter did not have much trash in it but it was causing problems.
