Back in the mid 60's, people where using some type of round truck mufflers with turn downs, this was in lieu of tail-pipes. This combination for those who remember gave the V8 engine a very clean an unique sound, not loud and with a small cam, the combination was really a sound to be hold. I am trying to duplicate that on my 85' S-10 with an LS motor and small cam: if anyone remembers this combination, I need the mufflers?
Thanks for your help:

If you are running the cattalitic converters it's really had to duplicate the sounds of the 60's, my friend has a 68 and a 69 Camero with LS motors running short headers with reprogramed computters ( no cattalic converters) with 2 1/2 exhaust and 12" long flat mufflers, they sound pretty good but not as loud as the 60's cherry bomb mufflers.

I remember guys using big inch Caddy mufflers for street sleepers. Quiet and flowed good. THOSE guys were serious $$$ street racers $$$. :D :D

I had a set of Sears headers and 14" Cherry Bombs on my 66 Nova with a 327.
No tailpipes, just turndown.
It was so loud loud you could not even think, the radio was useless.
