My dragster starting acting very strange today. Would turn on fuel pump (fuse issue) then tach is bouncing all over throughout rpm range from idle on. It's a 582 with msd 7al3 and 16 volt system. Car seems to run fine but I am concerned the ignition is shot. Any thoughts from the group. Thanks Todd

Check your grounds first that is always my first suspect I have seen them cause strange things.i would also check the tac

Not only the grounding POINTS but also for a broken wire will 'make and break' with engine vibration.

X2 on the grounds and don't count on the chassis for a ground. Run a wire from the battery to the MSD and one from the battery to the heads. You also should have a dedicated wire from the positive battery terminal to the MSD 12V. If it's not wired like that change it even if it has been like that since the car was built.
